Black Screen? UGH!

Hi I'm new here, and certainly not tech savvy. I know there have been threads that talk about a black screen, but what I've read they are at least getting a bit of the intro, music, and so on. Mine, however, just simply goes black with the loading cursor and will sit there for about two minutes. I know for sure I have downloaded everything correctly and all of my drivers are up to date. My game was working fabulously two days ago, then I got the patch.
tl;dr
Black screen. No sound, intro, etc. Happened after the patch download. Everything is done correctly and all of my drivers are up to date.

Are you saying you updated to the most recent patch? If so, that's what's causing this problem, and there's no way to fix it other than uninstalling. However, it should only be a couple days before the crack is updated to play with this patch.

I'll leave this topic open until we can confirm that the update is the only thing causing this.

I am having that problem also, I thought it was just because i accidentally updated to 1.55 but then i updated the crack and everything but im still having the same problem...any ideas on what to do?

I have a question about uninstalling it. Will you only have to uninstall the base game or all of the games?

Are you sure your game is 1.55 and you correctly applied the Ultimate Fix?

If this was a question for me.
I've never had a problem with updating patches before since I own the base game and another expansion. So using the Ultimate Fix has never crossed my mind

No, it was for other people asking questions in a thread which is not their own. Which is why we usually prefer starting a new one.
