Island Paradise: can't update and thus can't install

As topic.

Tried to install Island Paradise from games4theworld, and as usual it prompted me to update my sims 3 before installation. When I clicked yes, it showed me this, "Error with the Sims 3 update. Setup is unable to continue".

Kindly advised me on solving this problem. TQ

 

I have the same problem as you. After some quick research it seems applying the manual patch is the way to go. I'm about to try it now, you should too!

EDIT: It worked for me! I'm playing the game now without any problems
