The Sims 3 Manual Patch Cannot Download

idk what to do because i patched it from the sims 3 launcher and did everything in the installing guide, but the game crashed, as in the neighborhood and the save files are gone--even the options are!

so i thought maybe i'm supposed to install this manual patcher instead--but it's undownloadable!
idk what to do right now 

please fix it, cause i'm sure i'm not the only one with this problem

I'm not 100% sure why you get that error, but try the "alternative mirror link" instead: http://goo.gl/Grgzf7

And if your save files and neighborhoods are really "gone", then I'm afraid there is nothing you can do about it, except re-installing all CC and starting a new save. For the future, before patching the game, I suggest you go to My Documents/Electronic Arts and rename the folder "The Sims 3" into anything you like. Then patch the game. And after that, you rename the folder back to normal again.

And you're ready to play.

so now i have to reinstall?
well, that's fine by me, i didn't really remember what i played, anyway  
and i have no CC by the way, if what you mean by CC is custom content

No, don't un-install yet.

Try this here: go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and look for a file called 'hosts'. BACKUP this file somewhere (copy & paste it to any other location on your computer, or on a flashdrive, etc.). After backing up, delete the file.

Then in Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + Del. In the following Window marks the boxes "Cookies" and "Cache" and click OK. Close the browser, and after a little while open it again.

Try again both links for the manual patch, and again with different browsers. Good luck !
