New here, need a dumbed down explanation. [SOLVED]

I have the Sims 3 base game. (And whatever else came with the starter pack I bought at Walmart; Late Night and High End Lofts, I think..) Anyway, I can't afford to buy the expansion packs so I want to download them. Sadly, when reading the guide, I cannot understand it.

I downloaded the Pets, Generations and Seasons torrents. But I don't know how to install them. I tried to extract files but it said none were found.

Do I need to uninstall my game and install the one you provided? 

Sorry, I just need this kind of dumbed down a bit for I am seriously confused..

No, there's no need to uninstall anything. All Games4theworld downloads can be opened and installed as follows: open the .rar file you downloaded using only WinRAR, which can be downloaded from www.games4theworld.org . (If you use any other software than WinRAR, like WinZip or 7-Zip, the files will usually get messed up!)
After opening the .rar file using WinRAR, select all the files in it and drag & drop them to an empty folder on your Desktop. When the extraction has finished, close the .rar file and open the folder on your Desktop. 
Now start by reading the included "# Installation Guide.txt", and you should be able to get the game to work yourself.

No, you don't need to uninstall the game that you already have. The torrents you downloaded must have put some .rar files somewhere in your computer. If you right click the torrent in the program you used to download it, you should be able to see an option to Open Containing Folder. After you find them, you can extract them and install them using the Sims3EPXXSetup.exe inside of each folder.

After installing them, you just need to follow in with step 2 in the guide here:

Be sure to download the last update for the Sims also I find it easier to do that before adding the other expatiation packs. Since they are done updating the sims 3 EA has a master update download. You do not have to have an account with EA to use it.

Do I need a torrent program? Maybe that's what I'm missing. I'm not really sure, I don't use torrents so I have no idea how to use them.

Yes, yo do need a program to download the torrents properly. One of the most used is uTorrent.
After you download it, you need to go to http://www.games4theworld.org/downloads.html and search for the expansion packs that you want to download from the list. Then, you can click on the Magnet symbol next to each one and uTorrent should open automatically and start downloading them. 

When that is done you will find the .rar files for each EP in the folder that you selected (I think that Downloads is the default one), and then you just need to unzip them with WinRAR and go on with the installation guide.

Hello, I tried to get some picture installation guides but however my internet has dropped to below 0.7 mbps download and flatline 0 for uploads. Which is VERY slow!

Alright, I'm currently installing Seasons. And on the guide on this site, not the one in the torrent folder, it says "You may skip all the "# Crack" folders. You DO NOT need to use any "# Crack" folders!" So does that mean I forgo what's in the torrent's installation guide or follow it?
Also, do I need to apply the manual patch and ultimate fix?

The guide in the torrent is outdated and may cause problems.

Alright, I have everything downloaded. Now, for the EP when I get them installed that's all I need to do with them right? I don't need to drag any files anywhere?

I just got an error when opening the Sims 3.

What kind of error did you get? Did the game start at all?

It was the startup error.
I found a video from here on Youtube about it. 
I'm going to try the steps on that one unless there's something else I should do.

I can't link anything being a new member. But it's called The Sims 3 "Error during Startup" fix by *Games4theworld* on Youtube.
I followed the instructions, but the only registry keys I have are the ones I just installed. So I don't think that's the problem. But it is giving me the error during start up.

All it says is 'There was an error during startup. See the Log for more details'

I have the Sims 3 base in Origin. But I tried running them and both sent me to the Origin and then the launcher still gave me the error.

Oh, I didn't do that. I used the contents from the folder "All expansion packs released after and including Generations". Do I need to remove the ones from that and replace them with the #Crack folder contents?

It's still giving me the error code.
I've followed your instructions, the guide's instructions. Nothing's working.

All the information everyone is giving you is correct, its just that you have to do the following:
For the Origin Games:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games

Any Origin game that you have installed will be in this folder.
