Sims 3 Installation Help

I installed games4theworld sims 3 base game and updated it to 1.67.2 but whenever I try to start the game from the launcher it says "there is a problem connecting to server" "please ensure your internet connection is active". I installed the ultimate fix crack, tried the base game crack, and it still says the same thing. I turned off my firewall for mcafee and realtime scanning but it still doesn't work.

Are you sure you applied the ultimate fix to the base game?
