Is it possible to type custom emoticon instead of clicking it? Empty Is it possible to type custom emoticon instead of clicking it?

Hi!

I use the Tea 5 emoticon below all the time, and it takes forever for me, on my current old machine, to open the emoticons menu when replying. Is there a code I can type to use our custom emoticons? I tried using colons but it did not work, I also did some Google research on the subject but I did not find a solution that looks applicable here.

Thanks!

Tea 5

Also, I tried today the BB Code "mention" for user names with spaces in it, the preview showed Lady ElDi's link properly (the one I was testing), but when I actually updated my post, the system removed the link (I got neither a link like when we use the @ with single names, neither a plain text "Lady ElDi"). Does anybody know what I did wrong?

I wish you all a lovely evening!

After some experimentation, here are the codes for some smileys. Remove the space before the last character before the hypen.

:tea5 : - Tea 5

What he said.

In your posting toolbar, click on the symbol on the far right named "Switch editor mode". Now, what you will see is all content of a post in BBCode format (text colors, URLs, emoticons, etc.). If you now select an emoticon from the menu, you will see its BBCode format.

I suggest that you either memorize those emoticon codes that you use most frequently (like the : tea1:, : tea2:, etc.), or you can also copy + paste the codes into a text document for future reference.

I didn't know that. I had to look on the developer tools on Chrome just to get the tags. Silly me. lol!

Not sure what went wrong there, but the following should work:

Code:
@"Lady ElDi"

Another example:

Code:
@"Sim Architect"
