How Does the New Sims 3 dmg file work?

I have joined the files together, but the resulting dmg file is not recognised by the mac?! Would you be able to give me instructions? And is this the base game?

Thanks for replying. I have downloaded the ready-made one, but after joining the files, the mac can't open it. What's happened? Is my joiner faulty? By the way, I used Split and Concat, and I 'concatted' the files together. I just tried HJSplit, and it can't be opened either! What should I do?

Are you sure you used the Mac version of HJsplitter?
If yes, then I'm clueless for now.

Because there is no actual HJSplitter for mac, I used the one for Java?
I'm going to try and download the files again, maybe one of the files are corrupted?

I'm having the same problem, I used split & Concat but the resulting .dmg file is not recognized. I downloaded the ChunkJoiner but I was not able to use it because of something about classic not being supported. I'm using Snow Leopard and a version 10.5.8 Mac OS X

I have the same problem!! Should I download all split files again?! I concated it so many times, and the dmg cannot be recognized. I'm using Lion btw.

Okay, si I downloaded the files again, this time with that "Jdownloader" thing , all files seemed to be perfect, but as I joined them with split & concat, it still can't be recognized!!! please administrator! help! or someone!

I double checked all files, they are perfectly downloaded, so I reckon one of the files are corrupted!

Hi all, Im using Split&Concat version 3 from http://loekjehe.home.xs4all.nl/Split&Concat/ too.

I also resulted in File not recognised.

I realise that out of the 5 dmg.00X files I've downloaded, if u right click and select GET INFO for each of them,

only The Sims 3.dmg.001 is a Split Archive Segment file type,
the rest of the dmg.002, dmg.003, dmg.004 and dmg.005 are all Document file type.

I thought I had spoilt downloads so i redownloaded all of them, but its still the same result.

I'm not sure if it matters, maybe it is supposed to be like this, so i'm just stating for information purposes.

UPDATE:
I tried joining the files via Terminal commands, but had same results... File Not Recognised.

A month later and I'm having the same problem too, now. Has anyone gotten this figured out?
