Begginer problem.

hi guys, 

while i'm waiting for expansions packs to download, i tried to run the base game but that damn 'failed to initialize' thing appeared. so im wondering if that's ok since i havent instaled extensions yet or that's a problem. also, the windows defender is off, i don't have essentials, i already did the exeptions list on my malwarebytes (since that's my only anti virus) and did the firewall 'allow to work through firewall' thing.

Are you downloading the game from ZLOrigin? It's a better way for downloading the game with all the latest EPs and updates. (If you are using it, i don't think it'll work while EPs are downloading).
otherwise, you could have not put the crack properly?

No, I haven't used ZlOrigin, but I followed all the steps for the sims 4. Also, on the start of installation, a window popped saying the Microsoft Visual is not installed properly, so wondering if that needs to be already installed when installing sims 4?

You need the vredist files to play the game.
Open your installation folder (probably still C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4, don't forget later to move that folder The Sims 4 out of the folder Electronic Arts. If you don't do that you will hget the Origin not running error)).
Then open the folder _installer
Open folder vc
Open folder vc2013
Open folder redist
Run both the vredist.exe files
