silent install - Update-only version install mistake Empty Update-only version install mistake

I had all of the DLC installed, and didn't read carefully enough when I chose to update my game with the Ultimate Fix Update-Only download. Now the DLC aren't recognized.

Can I reinstall the DLC and have them concurrently with the update-only game?

If not, can I remove the update-only files and not affect my game?

I just wanted to add, that if you have the harddrive space available, you could do it similar to me. I have two "The Sims 4" folders, in two separate install locations. One is for TS4 + all DLC. The other one is just for the base game (and the folder name is "The Sims 4 BASE" to distinguish the folders better) plus that Update-Only patch.

If you want to test these update-only patches, apply them to your folder that has just the base game. The point of this exercise? I mostly do this for testing purposes, since I still also work on these update-only patches these days. It's also interesting to compare game performance between these two setups (the one with the base game + update-only fix runs much better).

Should you have no interest whatsoever though in a base game that has only the update, then you should indeed re-install all DLC. For the future, please ALWAYS follow the must-read guide here, which gets updated every time there is a new release.

You will notice that the Update-Only fix is NOT mentioned there; plus I also put a warning in the installation guide that is included in the update-only fix.
