Going in for round 2 tonight- want some clarification Empty Going in for round 2 tonight- want some clarification

So yesterday i spent like 5 hours trying to install the game with wine, ended up with everything up through seasons, but was unable to move into a world with the no househould glitch (also no worlds appearing to move into some of the time) and then the spanish error started and i was trying to apply patches etc and ended up deleting everything besides the .rar's i downloaded. However today is a new day, and I want to tackle this beast.

- My first question is I've seen in multiple places that you need to rename your game folder after the toddlers update, do you then need to download a new toddlers game folder and start copying the files from subsequent updates into there? Or can you rename the game file then just copy and past the next game folder, I think its cats and dogs, into it?

- obviously it is a lot of files to copy and paste everytime shout out mac os, is it ok to replace some of the folders? For example, in the installation_ folder there is a folder called DLC and the folders for each DLC in there always have new files, but it seems like they never gain any actual new files, could you simply option drag replace the folders for directories like that?

- Any other tips from people with working games on wineskin? Do you guys ever open the game between different installs to see if everything is working good, or are these unpatched/unstable iterations of the game a bad idea to open?

- is stopping at seasons a bad idea, do I need those more recent patches?

Thanks!

- You don't need to download fixed "Game" folder if you're going to install other DLCs. Just rename (or delete) "Game" folder and continue with installation.

- What do you mean? Just merge the folders. Uh, Macs still don't have "merge folders" option...? From what I see "Seasons" release contains full "_Installer" folder, so you can just skip it from other releases and replace your current one with the one from Seasons. Same with "Game" folder. BUT if you decide to install update 1.46 - those two folders in that update are not full - you need to merge them, not replace.

- Not on wineskin but I used wine+winetricks on some Linux system. I'm not sure but I think to run Sims 4 you just need to install VC Runtime 2010 and 2013.
Sure you can test it after each DLC. Just keep in mind that if you want to play after Toddler update and Toddler Stuff (#7 and #10 in installation guide) you need a fixed "Game" folder. But as I said earlier, you can just skip to the next DLC installation.

- It's playable but there were a lot of bug fixes. And if you want to use mods, you should update the game. Unless you can find mods made for game version 1.44.77.1020.
