Installing Expansions with a legit base game
is the process for this different than with a cracked base game?
i got the base game cus it was like 5 bucks... sadly the expansions are still expensive af even with discounts.
how would i go about installing the expansions on top of a legit base game?

Move the install-folder The Sims 4 from C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games to f.e. C:\Program Files (x86)dourako wrote:is the process for this different than with a cracked base game?

Make a new shortcut from C:\Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4 or TS4_x64 on your Desktop
Now you can add pirated DLC's.

Just be aware that if you "add pirated DLCs on tip of a legit game", you won't be able to use the online features like the Gallery (unless you do the trick with multiple "Game"-folders, which for most people I don't recommend). It's easier to maintain two separate installation of The Sims 4. One legit that you use for downloading Gallery items, the other one with a DRM-free game.
Was there any other reason than "it only cost 5 bucks", why you bought that base game? Because the only point in doing so, is to grab Gallery items, and nothing else. If you were planning to apply pirated DLCs on top of it (which again, would ruin your Gallery access), then you would have achieved the same result by grabbing a pirated base game straight away.
//EDIT
It's very common among many game publishers - not just EA - to give out (almost) free base game "teasers", to draw attention to their games. However, DLCs/expansions still cost a ton. In my opinion, we should not expect Sims 4 DLCs to be available for cheap, any time soon. Maybe in 5-10 years, when The Sims 5 comes out.
