Commercial lots disappear once the Sim is invited to an event there

Hi guys!

I've recently come across an issue whereby whenever my Sim is invited to a lot (e.g. social event, new Flea Market/Spice Market), or when my Sim goes to work (Science Lab in this case), the lot disappears upon arriving. Afterwards, when I revisit the lot on my own, the lot has disappeared for good. I've noticed this only happens to lots that I was invited to, not the lots that I choose to go to on my own.
It's especially frustrating when I want to accompany my Sim to work, since doing tasks at the workplace allows him to progress quicker in his job.
If anyone of you have faced a similar issue before I'd appreciate it so much if you can offer a solution! Thank you!

P.S.: I have attempted the game reset thing whereby I move particular sub-folders out of the Electronic Arts folder in Documents, in order to reset the game. When I reload the game and it starts out as a blank slate, I noticed that the workplace starts showing up again. Then when I put the old sub-folders back in, the problem re-occurs. So, I feel that it has to be an issue with one of them.

Then it's most probably mods. Go to Documents\Electronic Arts and move The Sims 4 folder to desktop. Start the game, close it, and copy saves from folder on desktop back. Then start adding mods bit by bit and test which one causes it.

Thanks for the reply! Just tried this step for step, and unfortunately the game still has the same issue even after I emptied all the mods. When I went back into my last saved game, which involves one of my main Sims on his workplace lot, the Science Lab is still not there.

Are there any alternatives whereby I can test it out with a different sub-folder?

As per your instructions, I've already moved the Electronic Arts folder in documents to desktop, restarted the game, closed it, and then copied the saves back into the folder in Documents. The Mods are clearly not a problem because when I started the game back up with the replaced 'saves', the Mods folder is empty. If the mods are the problem, the game's bug should be gone when it's started up without a single mod in the Documents folder. Still, the same issue occurs.

It wasn't clear from your last post what exactly you did. If that's the case and it still happens with just the saves copied back then your saves are corrupted. Which could be because of outdated/conflicting mods. Don't think there's any way to fix your save. You could try restoring previous one https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/how-to-restore-a-previous-saved-game-in-the-sims-4/ or moving your lot and household to the library, starting new game and moving them back.

Got it. I ended up doing the second alternative and moved household + lot to library, and started a new game. Science Lab is back, which I hope means the bug is gone. Thanks for your help!
