Help. Empty Help.

Post by Guest Sat 07 Sep 2019, 09:07

Hello,

I've been following this forum for the past 3 years now and I have everything downloaded up to Get Famous (and update 1.47 or something). I kind of abandoned The Sims 4 since life got in the way so I uninstalled it (didn't delete the installers though) but now I need help in re-installing them. Do I still need to install the updates or do I just go in and install the packs in order? I have attached a screenshot of all the files I have.

I would install them all in order, because some of the updates, you have to add them on top of others. Like you need to have Get Famous to out the updates after that and so on.
But that's my answer, I'll let an admin confirm that

To put* sorry.
And in the order I'm talking about is following when each update came out, just to be sure.
Isn't there an edit function somewhere? I hate double posts...

There's installation guide: https://www.games4theworld.club/t21806-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-4-correctly

Just a tip: if you want to update your game to the latest release, so the one including Moschino Stuff Pack, and you follow the guide and use G4TW releases, you will have to download update 1.49.65.1020, Strangerville, Island Living and Moshino Stuff. That's 24.6GB in total.
If you want to skip some of the DLCs or you just want something lighter, consider using my repack - it will be 5.7GB instead.

BTW we're getting a new DLC soon (on September 10th). So if you decide to use my repack it's better to wait and download the new patch (1.55.105) instead of currently available one (1.54.120).

Wait, I'm interested in using yours. Will I have to go back to step 1 and download everything (I want to install everything) or can I use the ones that I already have from G4TW?

Kind of like "water under the bridge", but in case someone else reads this thread and needs similar advice: a better decision would have been to do it the other way round. Backup your actual installation folder of The Sims 4 (maybe even packed in a .rar or .7z archive to reduce chances of file corruption), currently about 34.6 GB in size. And then delete the individual G4TW downloads. Just recently I even added a notice in the first part of the guide here ("what do I do with the downloaded stuff after installing"?).

Either way, if you're already in that position and need to start over, then either use some kind of "all-in-one" Sims 4 - look on The PirateBay for example - or anadius's stuff. Too much of a hassle to re-do the 20+ G4TW installers over again.

It's a matter of preference. As The_gh0stm4n said, it's easier to download everything from me, but if you want to download as little as possible, then install what you already have, following the guide I posted, and then install stuff from my repack. Cheers!

I downloaded your repack and it worked! Thank you so much.

I gotta ask though, how long does it usually take for new updates or packs to become available for download? I literally can't wait to get my hands on Realm of Magic.

You can get it the fastest from ZLOrigin. It's usually within 1-2h after the official release date. But since there was some controversy about ZLO (admin wiping HDD of some hacker and later denying it) and because from what I understood they can use anyone online on ZLO as a proxy - I don't recommend using it. I use it to download new DLC but I run it in virtual machine and close it as soon as I get the download link.

So the real problem is the crack. Since My First Pet Stuff CODEX is the group making it and basing on their previous releases it should be out within 24h from official DLC release date.

When I make my repack there's live progress on my Discord so you might want to join it to get everything ASAP. I also uploaded patch 1.55 already - but since there's no crack you can't install it yet.
