Sims 4 Star Wars DLC - Prep chatter.

Phew, looks like we're safe again! Alright, so after a "little hiccup" (with our .club domain), and after some extensive research from me & Ann's side, the Forum is back.

For what it's worth you can safely log in again here. The main reason I myself logged in here was to attempt to post that everything is OK. ~Ann~ will also log in later and post a brief comment.

So in case anybody saw the image here even for a brief moment, that was basically a little prank by me.   In hindsight, I should have made it look a bit more professional, but yes. We were going to test a few things, and that was when I put up that "anti-piracy warning".

The day after, the company that manages payments between customers and the French admin-overlords from "Forumotion", messed up something, so we had to re-initiate the payments. Which took unusually long, but there we are.

Since we are still intended as a family-friendly platform, I shall be diplomatic and refrain from further, possibly negative & generalizing comments about North American & European law enforcement personnel. But among many other things I do consider them competent enough to ensure that taken-down sites/domains, actually stay down. What usually happens after that (and which North American & European "news outlets" normally refrain from reporting on) is that operations will simply continue on another hosting service and/or domain, but I digress.

Oh, and don't get your hopes up. The Forum will remain as is, and it won't be coming back as you used to know it. That "Sentry666" is a dummy account which we used for some testing, and not a new Administrator. It will be removed shortly.

I also heard EA now want to appeal to "Star Wars" fans ... ?  Damn, if they now start capitalizing on franchises like that, we might be getting DLC for The Sims 4 at least until the year 2025 !!

Speaking of the platform, we intend to come to a formal conclusion with regards to the Forum and the general future outlook of G4TW, shortly. Preferably even before the Star Wars DLC for TS4 rolls on. So stay tuned.

I'll also be fixing the .torrent file links on here progressively.

So apparently quite a lot of people are rather dis-satisfied with the latest "Star Wars - Journey to Batuu" DLC, and the accompanying 1.66.139.1020 patch.

Upon a suggestion of a user I've put up again the links for the previous Global Patch, version 1.65.77.1020. If you did the latest 1.66.139.1020 patch, you should be fine if you just delete your current "Game"-subfolder, and then re-copy & re-paste the 1.65.77.1020 Global Patch, over your TS4 installation. Which should have the effect of rolling you back to the previous patch version.

If for some reason it doesn't work out, re-install the "Basegame [FIXED]", then delete your "Game"-subfolder, apply the 1.65.77.1020 Global Patch, and re-do the included dlc-toggler.

People are also writing that this latest DLC is in fact merely a glorified advertisement for a Disney/Star Wars theme park in California, U.S.A. ?

Now, I don't know about the COVID-19 restrictions in U.S.A. or their individual provinces, but if there are restrictions comparable to elsewhere, then that must be a LOT of fun visiting that theme park (specifically any indoor venues) with those cheap face masks!

Despite the narrative that is being pushed VERY hard by the glorified social media managers from EA ("SimGurus"), those content updates seem to be mostly determined by upper-echelon management at EA/Maxis, and their shareholders. In other words, people who - for the most part -  are completely out of touch with the realities that 'normal' people face, and who can afford to be relatively unconcerned about the ongoing pandemic.

But hey, at the end of the day that is just a subjective opinion from good old me!    And Linkvertise removed from 1.65.77.1020 Global Patch.



P.S. Just to be clear - should you decide to roll back your game to 1.65.77.1020, bear in mind you won't be able to use content from the Star Wars DLC!

P.P.S. And to clear another possible misconception, you do NOT have to rollback your game! This rollback is purely optional, for those people who find the latest Star Wars DLC and/or patch version 1.66.139.1020 too glitchy.
