The Sims 3 Has Stopped Working (Re-Opened)
This randomly started yesterday (and I hope it's not just me) I took out all of my mods and it didn't change anything. When I run the game, I can run it for a couple of minutes and then it says "Th Sims 3 Has Stopped Working" and then asks me if I'd like to check online for a solution or if I'd just like the close the program. Erm. So. This is really a raining moment on my parade since I have legacy shenanigans to post. Please help (if you guys can, which usually you can.)
<3
P.S. My laptop is near brand new, it's not overheating and Sims 2/all my other games are working perfect.
P.P.S. It's not just a specific save anymore, now my game crashes randomly with any household that I play.

Re: The Sims 3 Has Stopped Working (Re-Opened)
I tried all of these and I still get the same pop-up. Now it's happening even earlier (while the family is loading.)
So... This isn't giving me a huge load of confidence.
EDIT //
My other games work... But not the one that I actually want to play. -_-
What could the deal with that be?
//EDIT
I've decided that it is just that one family that is messed up. Unfortunate, but true. I will miss my legacy family.

Hello,
Doest the not-working game have a .backup folder in: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves ?

Re: The Sims 3 Has Stopped Working (Re-Opened)
*le sigh* So now I feel pretty hopeless.
//EDIT
It's not my computer over-heating. I downloaded the CPU temp monitor and no matter how low or high, my game crashes.

Make sure your graphic card is up to date.
Searching around for crashes and The Sims 3, and got this off the modthesims.

I did the "Sims 3 Backup" renaming option and I hope it goes smoothly.t2sink wrote:Make sure your graphic card is up to date.

Hello,
I was going to suggest that as well. And in case this is happening because your save game is becoming too large, you may want to consider using Porter to move your sims to another neighbourhood without loosing relationships. It looks like you may be going towards a bad save file or error 12. If the backup will load.

The backup actually worked.Lady ElDi wrote:Hello,

Now it's a matter of all the custom content that needs reinstalling.

Re: The Sims 3 Has Stopped Working (Re-Opened)
Can someone please help me????
I am having the same issue with the sims 3 crashing as is has stopped working.
I bought my laptop 2 days ago and did the install from scratch for all sims 3 (bar fast lane and supernatural)
My computer is more than capable of running the sims:
COMPUTER SPECS:
Bought 2 days ago...
Processor: 3rd generation Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM Processor 2.3Ghz (Turbo 3.3G)/6M
Memory: 6GB (DDR3 1600MHz )
Storage: 1TB (5400 rpm)
Operating System: Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Video Chip: Switchable 2GB nVIDIA GeForce GT650M (Optimus) + Intel® HD Graphics 4000
Screen: 15.6" Thin Bezel LED LCD HD (1366 x 768) 16:9, Anti-Reflective Display
I have tried DEP, but when i did it (added all .exe files that it would let me) i couldnt lower the walls of houses, or move up and down stories, and all the objects werent appearing in the houses.
Could i not have my screen or graphics card configured properly?
I did try with none of my cc, and that seemed to work (but if i had of kept playing, it may have crashed im not 100% sure)
and then tried with just twallans master controller and woohooer one and added the registry (the thing you need to download to make mods show in the game) and that ended in a definate crash.
I cant do a patch update atm as i have no internet bar mobile 1.5GB (waiting for NBN, dont ask) and it will need 1GB of that and i just cant use it like that atm...
It just seems to freeze all of a sudden, even though the graphics and game were running flawlessly.
Its really disappointing as i bought this laptop to stop this problem from happening (it used to happen on my old one too).
I have tried most suggestions, and gone through the ones on the link posted. What is this backup option?
The only thing is, it happened the first time i played my game on a brand new laptop, so would it really be a saved world???
Any help would be appreciated.
