Please Help.[SOLVED]

When I click on my witch to play with magic the icon appears but she does nothing. The icon only lasts for a few seconds then disappears. I tried it with every wand in the game, but i want her to do more than conjure apples! Also with the Alchemy Station my sims can only research it and that's it. I thought it was supposed to be a skill?
Everything else about the game seems to be fine except it is really slow and glitchy. Can anyone help please?

Have any Mods? Does it only affect this one witch?

If you have this folder "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods" you probably do. Move it to your desktop and try to play again. Might have to do the entire "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3" folder tho, just to make sure it's not related to a save or something.

Have you tried to play with the magic on any other Sims, if not try that after the first part.

I only have the one witch. i just started playing Supernatural. ok so i removed the "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3" folder and it went back to the basics of the game. of course it worked without any of the mods or anything. Does that mean I can't have any mods or CC if I want it to work?

Is there a way to update the mods?

Check to see if they have a updated version of the mods you have for the current version of The Sims 3 you have, like 1.39 for example.

Ok I have another question. Whenever my game loads and goes to the screen where I can pick which world I want to play, there is always a window the says two mods found and it lists the cigarette one and the pregnancy one. could these two mods be causing the problem? Other than these two I have faster cooking, instant skills, instant hidden skills, and faster homework time. Other than that the rest is just clothes and make up. should I take out the ones listed first? I only ask because my game takes FOREVER to load and I just want to be pointed in the right direction.

Ok I went through my mods and found the one that was causing the problem. I even found an update for it! Thanks guys!
