Spy book.... HELP

This is very of the topic of torrents but i've recently been offered a place with the SIS [secret intelligence service] or commonly known as MI6 but i need to study up on the history of overseas operatives [spy's] but seeing as the British government frown on ex spy's publishing the biographies i cant find anything in my local library and i was hoping anyone could recommend a site or even a name of a book/biography of a spy/s, much love =]
