Two Ea folders, downloads keep uninstalling. [SOLVED]
I am writing this here in hope that Admin may find it, as I never see them online in the chatbox.
I have encountered a strange issue with the sims 3. I used to play it on my old laptop with tons of custom content and no problems, but ever since I installed the game and expansions up to seasons on my new desktop computer the CC has not been able to work.
Firstly, I have 2 EA games folders in my documents, If I delete one it re-appears on launcher startup.
Secondly, the issue lies mostly with "downloads" folder custom content. I install them from the launcher and they appear under installed but when I start the game I have none of the content. Then, when I quit out and go back into launcher, all my custom content is un-installed again but appears under downloads.
I would really appriciate a fix for this as Sims means nothing to me without custom content...
I am running windows 8.
I have tried un-installing and re-installing the games. I tested the base game without expansions and downloads worked fine and remained installed. They are still listed under installed currently although they no longer appear in-game.
Thanks for your time and great games

Hello,
What if you delete both EA folders in documents?
Your content may have to be installed a few at a time, 20 at most.

Re: Two Ea folders, downloads keep uninstalling. [SOLVED]
I have been using only 10 hairstyles as tests.
If I delete both folders, one comes back upon launcher startup and the other comes back upon game startup.
//EDIT
Also they both have different content.
Here is the content as it appears after being deleted.
EA Folder one contains:
Folders:
Contentpatch(empty), DCBackup(empty), DCCache(empty),
Downloads(contains: nav, wl), Exports(empty), InstalledWorlds(empty),
Recorded Videos(empty), Screenshots(empty), SigsCache(contains:
Platform) .
Files: Sims3LauncherLogFile
EA Folder two contains:
Folders:
Collections(Contains: User, colletionOrder.package),
ContentPatch(Contains: Download), Custom Music(Contains random music),
DCBackup(Contains: ccmerged.package), DCCache(Contains:
missingdeps.idx), Downloads(empty), Exports(empty),
FeaturedItems(contains random pictures), IGACache(empty),
InstalledWorlds(empty), Recorded Videos(empty), SavedOutfits(empty),
Saves(empty), Screenshots(empty), SigsCache(Contains: igs),
Thumbnails(Contains: CASThumbnails.package, DownloadsThumbnails.package,
ObjectThumbnails.package).
Files: CASPartCache.package,
compositorCahce.package, DeviceConfig, Options, scriptCache.package,
simCompositorCache.package, Sims3LauncherLogFile, Sims3Logs,
socialCache.package, Version.tag

Re: Two Ea folders, downloads keep uninstalling. [SOLVED]
Hello,
Had this problem with someone else too, a few days ago.
Try this, please:
*Back up your savegames
1. Completely uninstall The Sims 3 base game, using Your Uninstaller! Pro from www.games4theworld.org . Use the "Super Mode".
2. Restart your PC.
3. Reinstall the game.
4. Test the game and let us know the result.
Good luck!

Re: Two Ea folders, downloads keep uninstalling. [SOLVED]
Was I just supposed to re-install the base game? Because I did and applied the ultimate fix and its saying "sims 3 launcher has stopped working"

Hello,
Try the manual patch, even if you're already at that patch level.

Okay, patched manually.
Opened launcher.... 2nd folder was created
This is very frustrating. I have no idea what is wrong with it.
Content still refuses to remain installed...

Hello,
Are you by any chance running the game in compatibility mode?
