Crashing arrrgh
No, that was not my being a pirate out of humor MY FRUSTRATION ARRRGH
I've gone through my mods sooo many times. And my Sims, it's not quick to load in the least. I have several mods and CC - though I'm cautious with my CC, have been ever since I got hit by Rose's horse body. -__-;
But I digress. I've given Sims 3.25gb to work with, as well as added it all to the DEP. I'm 98% positive it's a mod because my Sims just started crashing recently. I've gone through my mods, deleted several, redownloaded several - ones I couldn't bear to be without - but after this late time, when it conked out my thoughts were, "I'm going to throttle this computer." I've noticed it tends to quit when I go into map mode. When I was in CAS, I got a notice saying possible core confliction with NRAAS Master Controller. I have The Sims 3 Crash Log Analyzer, but that isn't opening for me either so I don't get how to work it. I have a few error files, but I don't understand them.
I've also noticed when Sims 3 quits it says "debug" instead of what the "Windows is searching for a solution..." or whatever it normally says.
So I have several Nancy Drew-like clues, but I'm having intense difficulty following them. I even thought, what if Twallan made a mistake somewhere? But it's Twallan, that's highly doubtful - but even if he did, I would see a solution posted from him soon (I hope.)
So I'll post the errors I have. Each time it's conked out I'm always left with 3 script errors and two from TS3CLA, I think.
Warnings in advance: I have several mods. Definitely too much. I've batched a few together (Orange, Cocoa, the funny ones named like that) that are just CC, the others are mostly meaningless ones that I've grown to love and have difficulty functioning without. But I'm pretty consistent with updating them, so I have no idea what the problem is. This just started in the last week or so.
Thank-you for your time/help!
Oh, and invalidusername - because I know you'll probably post as always - thank-you for your help last time, too! ^__^ With the my weird save folders, lmao. Remember me?
These are the errors I get.
(Sorry for people who dislike 4shared - and AdFly?! G4TW's intercepting my link! D: - but it's the only way I've gotten used to posting. ;><)
Thanks again. (:
-Edited- Okay, my stubbornness forced me to try one more time. I deleted more sliders, this time focusing on some of CmarNYC's that I'd recently added. Eh, I guess I don't really need them... So far going into map mode hasn't made the game crash - but we shall see.
Fingers crossed, lol.

Re: Crashing arrrgh
Hello,
Have you tried the 50/50 method on your mods, or adding them in small groups to see which ones cause the problem?
I'm interested to hear if removing these sliders does the trick. Perhaps they're the cause of the problem. A core conflict with Master Controller seems unlikely, it's not a core mod.
I can't make heads or tails of those crashlogs myself, but if you want to find out you may as well ask at Twallans wiki, they're friendly and helpful as long as you don't tell them you don't actually own the game.

Re: Crashing arrrgh
Well, I own the base game - does that count for anything? :'D
And in all honesty, I'm thinking it might have been CmarNYC's sliders. The game didn't crash yesterday, even with my "testing it" by moving my mouse erratically on the map screen. (Last time I hadn't even done anything yet, just opened the map and it crashed.) I played for at least an hour, and the five standard errors from before didn't appear. Though I got a new error - no new mods or CC had been added - saying something about a "Go Here" interaction not working with this child and a bike. I continuously got this error while playing. Same child, same error, so I probably have to keep doing some digging.
Also, my sim's body changes when she's showering or skinny dipping. These markings aren't there unless she's naked, oddly enough, and changing her skin or going through and trying to delete potential tattoos does nothing. Odd, huh?
This is what I mean.
Thanks for your response!(:

Re: Crashing arrrgh
I do remember you!
I'd definitely try without the mods folder in, and see if that works. Then, if it does, do what LadyEldi suggested, with placing only half at a time, and narrowing the problem down from there.
Also, if the error is coming from one of Twallan's mods, they've been throwing a lot of errors concerning specific sims doing the same thing repeatedly for me too, so I think that may be something to do with the game not responding correctly to that sim's reset.

Re: Crashing arrrgh
I will try doing it in small groups or halves like suggested. I've been avoiding that method due to how slow Sims is with loading, and how many damned mods I have lmao. This might take a while.
If it's Twallan's mods having the error however, I'm certain others would have notified him and a fix will be on its way. I'll keep an eye on his site.
Lol glad to be remembered!(:

EmilyAnn, you should also (from time to time at least) read up on Twallan's "State of the Mod" section on the NRAAS website so that you can find out about problems with mods and current patches, expansions, etc.

Re: Crashing arrrgh
I was having lots of crashes too, mostly in CAS and it irritated me so much. I asked for help here, and guys helped me and gave me ideas about why this happens.
The Sims 3 has a complicated way of running, and time to time an error occurs even your game is up to date, or CCs are fine, mods also. That's why I am suggesting you to run your game without any mod or CC first, by taking your Sims' folder on desktop. When you run the game again, it regenerates a new folder, and see if game crashes this time without mods or CCs.
If don't then slowly, starting with store contents you can install the CC five by five or in small numbers. And also, get the Delphy's Dashboard, and after installing every group of CCs check the dashboard if there is sometihng corrupted or conflict with other CCs.
It takes a little time, but it worths it. Right now, I am playing the game without crash (kinda ) with my favorite mods and CCs.
Good luck
