Try to run as Administrator.
Also, have a look at this topic (just use the Sims Medieval files instead of Sims 3).
Mostly, try to add your games to the DEP.
Does this help?

For the Launcher, this is normal. Do you get the message too for the game .exe?

Ok, people on EA forums say that our Ultimate Fix for Medieval solved their problem...
Are you sure your game is up to date and you applied the Fix correctly?

//EDIT: You could try launching the game in windowed mode (change fullscreen to 1 in options.ini), but I doubt that would change much...

Have you followed the instructions inside the Archive?
Where did you copy the files?

Oh, you don't have Pirates and Nobles?
If not, the Fix will indeed not work. You need both!

No then it's fine. Only in the Medieval folder...
And are you sure you replaced every file?

Copy the files from the Crack folder of the Ultimate Fix to where you said. All three files have to be there!

So the test says you cannot run it?
Well, it is not the problem of Windows 8: under Windows 7, some people can run it and other can't
It depends on your System Requirements... (video card, graphic card, and so on...)

It's weird because it said that the sims 3 does not support Windows 8 and yet it works fine!
