Hello,

Title says all. But still I think it brings out a good message: Don't waste any food!

It's made in Hong Kong, and that says enough for me...
But, yes, it does convey an inportant message: "Let the stomach be master over the eyes, and not the other way round." (inspired by a Johnny English quote - probably makes no sense xD)

Umm...  silent They tend to over-do things, IMO (the Chinese in general). Like this. They obviously made this with the intention of bringing a serious message to the masses and make everyone think about wasting food, but tbh this makes me laugh a lot, while it doesn't really make me think a lot about wasting food. They might have wanted to make it a bit more serious.

But then, some people might actually change their eating and buying habits after watching this video, and it clearly has 'opened the eyes' of many people:

I didn't mean to offend anyone, Chinese or not.

It's nice to see that that country actually cares enough about (not) wasting food that they're throwing an expensive campaign at it.

I don't agree that it's that overdone. There's an "all you can eat buffet" restaurant in my area that has people who continually take more than they're going to eat pay extra. You should see for yourself how much is thrown out, many don't realise that we could feed all of the hungry people in the world with what is thrown out every day.
Aside from that, I've never seen an ad or promotion that wasn't overdone, all companies do it. Reality doesn't "sell".

Lady ElDi anticipated most of what I wanted to say, but again, "overdoing" things like that is a pretty common strategy in the advertising industry, no matter where you are and what the ad/commercial is about - be it a campaign against alcohol/drug abuse, spousal abuse/domestic violence, reckless driving, or food waste.

The fact that you even mentioned a totally irrelevant detail, namely that "it's from Hong Kong", is not OK, so please keep things like that in mind for the future, when posting on here.

//EDIT

Would you have made the same remark if the video was made in the US ? Or the Netherlands ? Or any other country ?

I spent yesterday feeling depressed and guilty, and today trying to come up with something smart to say. I didn't succeed.

Needless to say, the wording of the concerning sentence was a bit unlucky, to say at the least. I should've thought more before posting, or just post nothing at all.

I really didn't mean to hurt, insult and/or offend anyone (but I probably - unintentionally - did), and I immediately regretted posting after
Carlos asked "What is this supposed to mean?"

The only sensible thing I can think of is to apologize.
So, my sincerest apologies. For not thinking before writing the concerning sentence. For including that sentence in my post, for the whole world to see. For possibly insulting people, without the intention of doing so.
I hope everyone accepts my apologies, and I hope we can settle this issue.
And I promise I won't write anything like that again in the future (or at least think thoroughly about the consequences).

Please forgive me.

Regarding Carlos' last sentence: no. I could have said that I think it's a bit overdone, but I probably, most likely, wouldn't have made that remark.

Spoiler:

Just keep in mind what I said in the previous post, about minding your language for the future...

And if you cannot seem to "find" your posts anymore, then most likely they were deleted by a Mod or Admin. I may have even done that myself, though with the number of people misposting daily, I can't possibly keep track of that.

The reasons posts are usually deleted on here is because they were posted in a sub-forum in which (certain) questions are strictly not allowed. For example, in all the "Fixes"-sections. Not only are questions forbidden there, but also ANY FOLLOW-UP REPLIES. So if someone happens to post a question there, and you, dunic, decide to reply to it (or any other user, for that matter), then I will delete BOTH the question and your reply. There is a good reason why there's the three huge sections called The Sims (3) in-game problems, The Sims (3) downloads support (PC) and Mac support (for Sims questions on a Mac system): because virtually ALL Sims (3) issues belong there, and not in the fixes-sections.

There are no problem discussions in the "Fixes" forums. NEVER. The fixes-posts that are posted there are only intended to be READ. What you can post are "thank you-posts". But that's it. Smile

//EDIT

About the "posts deleted without notice"-thing...you have to excuse me and the other team members that we do not normally "warn" or explain to each and every user, who posts problems in the "Fixes"-sections, why we deleted the post, unless a user asks directly.

There are many other things to do on here, and time is scarce.
