Sims 3 Launcher Error. [SOLVED] Empty Sims 3 Launcher Error. [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Sun 27 Oct 2013, 07:22

I just finished installing every single game and pack (except Katy Perry) on my slave drive (K:). When I tried to use the launcher, it said "There was an error during startup. Please see the log for more details". When I tried to start the game from the game shortcut it says, "Unable to start game. Service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)". This is a brand new, fresh install on a brand new hard drive, therefore the video solution does not work for me. I checked my registry and it shows only the games I have installed. I have spent hours installing, patching, etc. and now I can't even access the game. I'm going mad! How can I possibly fix this! If I have to un-install it and re-install it, I probably will simply just not play The Sims anymore. It's too much work!

No, it's a slave. I bought a second hard drive and installed it and when I formatted it, it was assigned the letter K. It's entirely internal.

I am afraid the only option is reinstallation. Download and install Your Uninstaller Pro from www.piratebay.sx/user/games4theworld. Uninstall all the base game and the expanions with the Uninstaller Super Mode.Reboot your pc and try installing them again.

Sims 3 Launcher Error. [SOLVED] Empty Re: Sims 3 Launcher Error. [SOLVED]

I had the same problem. I downloaded the new ultimate fix and applied it. all of my games are downloaded except 2 so if any of them have cracks you have to re-apply the cracks right before the last step in the ultimate fix (which is applying the crack) so where my problem came in at was one of my games uninstalled itself I found it by going to control panel, programs (uninstall a program) and it showed all my games that were installed. well university life was showing that it was installed but it didn't have an icon like the rest of the installed games so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It had a crack so I applied the crack and then applied the ultimate fix crack over that crack and BAM! my game was working just fine. FYI you may have to use the manual patch to update it. I really hope this helps you.

I'll check into this first. I have them all installed except Katy Perry, but that's a stuff pack. I tried the ultimate fix earlier, but maybe I didn't do it right? I'll check my games that are installed also, thanks for the tip. If that doesn't work, installing all of the games all over again will have to wait until next weekend, it takes too long!

I have that uninstaller, use it all the time. This will be my last resort. I'll try the other person suggestion first, re-apply the ultimate fix and see if anything works before I do this all over again. Just takes so much time! Thank you for trying!

Weird, my sims Generation has no icon, but all the rest do! Maybe I have the same issue! I'll try when I get up, I got side tracked with Sims Medieval and um, it's 5:15 AM! Eep! I'll uninstall, reinstall, patch, and ultimate fix and see if it works. Will let you know!

Sorry, didn't realize I was "spamming"! I re-installed Generations and the ultimate fix and the launcher works now! Lifesaver! Now to make sure it all runs correctly before adding all the store content and custom content! Thank you so much!

Hi there,

You're missing icons on your Game Launcher?
Try re-applying the 1.63 manual patch and then check the Launcher. Do the icons show up now?
If yes, continue with step 3 and 4 and you're good to go: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

If not, does the Launcher give an error? (Something like "Error during Startup" for example)
