PCTV vs. Webcam conflict Empty PCTV vs. Webcam conflict

Post by Guest Mon 25 Jul 2011, 10:31

Hey guys Smile

So I hope you guys have got any ideas how to fix this problem!
I have installed Pinnacle's PCTV which works fine. However, when I try to install a (logitech) webcam is simply doesn't work. During the installation I don't encounter any errors but the moment the installation has finished and I try to start the webcam it simply doesn't. In Windows Live Messenger's options for the audio/video I can choose my webcam. I can only choose 'Pinnacle PCTV 110i BDA Analog Capture', there is no option for my webcam. When I try to start the webcam from it's software map it loads the exact same name stated above and it gives me a white screen instead of the working webcam. There isn't any option to change the pinnacle pctv setting to my webcam. I have already looked around on google but all I could find was a driver conflict. I have the latest drivers for both so I don't know what to do!?

Hope you guys can help me Sad

Hi Bliss1991,

I suggest you to remove/uninstall completely both of the driver. And then restart your computer. After that, please re-do the installation. But this time, try to install the logitech driver (webcam) first. Then you can follow to install the PCTV driver.

Please update the status after you try this method.

Thank you,

Hello,

Besides, did you use the drivers from the disc that came with the Webcam?

No, because it said it wouldn't operate with Windows 7. So I have downloaded the newest driver I could find.

I have also contacted tech support by now.
