Online/not online. [SOLVED]
Hi everyone,
and goed werk; don't know if it's spelled that way but that's what google says!
anyway just saying thanks to everyone and a slightly problem (not a big deal) but today I kept going in my account and other people's accounts and I saw some of my friends (in friends list) are online but when I go to the main page they are not on the list of the people that are online and I kept logging on and off to see if it's my problem or not.
is anybody else having this problem???
And I want to PM that person but I don't know if she/he is online or not?
It's not that big a deal but I thought saying wouldn't hurt.
so thank u to everyone

Hello,
I guess the "online status" in the profile is not quite "up-to-date". It probably shows you friends that were online until several minutes ago. If you want to know who's online, go to the forum's main page and scroll down to the bottom, and look under where it says "Who is online ? - Registered users".
Hope this helps you !

Hi there,
You're welcome.
Don't worry, let us know if you have any other questions about the Forum.
By the way, I feel that sometimes after logging out, an user is still shown as "online" for like 5 minutes.

Re: Online/not online. [SOLVED]
Hello,
I was gonna suggest that you close the topic BUT I came across a new problem with these...
My account keeps logging off without me doing anything...
For example the other day I was writing a VERY long post and then when I clicked send it asked me to log on again.... I didn't even log off....that happens quite often...and when I'm logged off and I go to the home page my name is on the list of people who ARE online.... NOTE: This is not that big a deal for me but it's annoying when you're writing a one page PM!
I hope you understand what I mean by this....
Thanks

Do you happen to have something like "automatic cookie cleanup" running? Or CCleaner automatically running in the background?

Re: Online/not online. [SOLVED]
OK, can someone honestly help cause this gets quite annoying after a while.
As I mentioned before I want/wanted to suggest to close this topic but it gets on my nerves whenever it happens!
My username still shows online even after I log out!!
It doesn't always happen but it is annoying, believe me!
Here's the proof:

Hey there,
Yes, that happens with me too, sometimes, and that's nothing much to worry about. The name will then disappear after a while...

Re: Online/not online. [SOLVED]
Hello there,
This topic is closed already, but I'd like to add: try to refresh the homepage a few seconds after logging out. That might help. (Not in logging you out "twice", but to see whether you're actually still shown as online, even after being logged out)
Because my name usually disappears from the list directly after logging out.

Re:
Another extra note: "refreshing" a page can be easily done by pressing the F5 key on your keyboard, while in your browser.
Alternatively, by clicking on the refresh-button in your browser toolbar at the top and if you right-click somewhere on the page (except any link) and choose "refresh/reload page".
