The Sims 3: Showtime Empty The Sims 3: Showtime

Post by Guest Tue 28 May 2013, 06:49

So recently I was given this expansion pack with so-so expectations, but as soon as I created my sim and began playing, I COULD NOT WALK AWAY FROM MY COMPUTER!!! Ladies and Gentlemen, EA has done it again.

The Overview
Basically the point of this expansion pack was to go CRAZY with the celebrity life style and include things such as live shows and gigs that your talented sim can participate in. Your sim starts out in a town called Starlight Shores, a town filled with major opportunities for your sim to get their name out there. Things ranging from acrobatics, magicians, and singers, you never know what you might end up with!

Sim Creation
The new clothing selection was very nice, and included lots of different outfits suiting any style out there.

The Jobs
The new jobs (Technically the ones im talking about are professions, but lets just call them jobs for now) Were fantastic, they gave you an opportunity to show the whole town of starlight shores what some sims are capable of.

The Town
The town of Starlight Shores had a creative story, and interesting architecture, but I felt as soon as you moved in the town, the only affordable homes were either run down, old houses or trailers.... Haha, I just wish there were more choices for a house instead of shacks.

The Citizens
The citizens of Starlight Shores were also very creative and colorful, and I had a blast interacting with them, but some were kinda dull, and lacked backstory.

Wrapping it Up
Well, that's it for my review, it's now time to find out the final rating of The Sims 3: Showtime

Sim Creation - 25/25
The Jobs - 25/25
The Town - 23/25
The Citizens - 24/25

The following grading above gives The Sims 3: Showtime a rating of 97% out of 100.

My Opinion
In my opinion, The Sims 3: Showtime is a fantastic game that I recommend to any Sims 3 fan out there. Sure, it had a few quirks, but isn't that always the case in any game? Haha, so what are you waiting for? Go get your copy of The Sims 3: Showtime today!

In fact, I don't think Showtime is a fun EP at all. As soon as you get into the game, you will find it as boring as hell. Starlight Shores doesn't look any different from any official Sims 3 towns (even the rabbitholes are the same ,and the bars. *Yawn* Very often there are no sims in the bars, even they are marked as hotspots. Figures...). The careers in Showtime are boring too: I mean you can fall asleep watching your sims work out for acrobatic career or performing for tips or performing gigs. I mean the whole procedures (or processes) of levelling up your sims' acrobat or singer are never different from the others. Therefore, I get bored soon after I installed it.

Really? Aww, well I'm really sorry you didn't appreciate it Sad
Then again, I guess I could see how Showtime isn't exactly every sims 3 gamer's cup of tea. As for the non-crowded bars and hotspots, that stuff originated with Late Night, so try putting that complaint in a Late Night review Smile.
~ By the way guys, PLEASE do recommend game reviews for me, I'd be more than happy to do them Very Happy

Nice review Smile. What I like most about the "Showtime" expansion is its town, "Starlight Shores".
I can't say much about the careers, but the singer & magician careers look fun. However, EA have again screwed up there: lots of people (me including) have problems in the singer career.

It's quite common that features of The Sims 3 work at some point, at later on - with a new patch and/or expansion installed - they don't.

Hmmm, that's weird Shocked I don't remember having any glitches with my singer, but I do remember one where every time I'd use a saved setup for her performance, the whole entire set would get erased, and I'd have to remake it all over again. It drove me crazy!! Haha, but your right, some recent patch probably messed up your singer career. Whatever it is, a newer patch will probably solve your problem Very Happy

This is the second worst expansion pack in my opinion (the worst is into the future).

It isn't bad, it's just few... I play the game without almost use anything from this EP, feeling like I did not even install it. It's almost a stuff pack to me. It has some (just few) items and I like to see the Genie again in the Sims. But other than this it doesn't include too much.
