After updating to 1.67 getting an error when trying to open the launcher. (SOLVED)
I just downloaded the manual update for version 1.67 and then applied the latest ultimate fix afterwards. Now I am getting an error that pops up saying "There was an error during start up. Please see the Log for more detail." The only option to click is okay, and then it force shuts the launcher.
I have done these installs several times and I know I did it correctly this time. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hello,
Please try this fix: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t6052-error-during-startup-see-log-for-more-details-fix
Also, is your Ultimate Fix is up to date?

I have tried that too....but I have all of the expansions installed...so I do not need to delete any. They are all there, but they should be all there, right?

Yeah.
First, don't delete any in your registry.
Second, did you use the Latest Ultimate Fix? If not, please re-download and re-apply it. Here is the link: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

Yes, I am sure I downloaded the most recent one. I just downloaded the stuff a few hours ago and they were all of the most recent updates.

Maybe you've missed the last part of the fix. (The "#Crack" step thing)

Try running the launcher as administrator.
See if it works. Good Luck!

I have also already tried that, and no luck. I usually try to find some common answers and try them out before posting here, but I have tried them all again after you suggest them. I am truly stumped.cezra31 wrote:Sonichi13 wrote:

The only other thing i think i've done is uninstall and then reinstall Into the future.

You try opening the game directly, without starting it in the Launcher.
To do it, Just run the TS3.exe in the Base Game folder.
If it doesn't work, please standby and wait for other helpers to help you.

Re: After updating to 1.67 getting an error when trying to open the launcher. (SOLVED)
Hi there!
Yes, one option that may avoid the problem is to run the game using the .exe from the The Sims 3\Game\Bin folder. As you have EPs after Generations installed, please use TS3W.exe to do it.
Just a little question. You said you uninstalled and reinstalled Into the Future. When was this? Before you got the error, or after? And was it before or after applying the 1.67 Patch?

Also do you having any mods installed? If so you will have to update them too by re-download the newer version.

Re: After updating to 1.67 getting an error when trying to open the launcher. (SOLVED)
This error only prompts when your install is corrupted. It seems to me that the registry may have messed during the time you uninstalled and re-installed Into The Future. We will figure this out after you answer SeoY's question.

I have tried that but it just tell me "Unable to load game Service initialization failed"SeoY wrote:Hi there!

I did the reinstallation after the error and the patch. I already had all expansions installed but I had not played for a while so I was just now seeing a new update available. When I would check for updates on my launcher it said my game was up to date, so I'd hit refresh and it'd say unable to connect to Origin. So I downloaded the manual patch, applied the fix and suddenly started to get the error. Then I tried to uninstall and reinstall Into the Future and still getting the same error.
I do not have any mods or custom content. Too much work to keep up with.

Hello,
Please come to the Chatbox.
I will help you there.
//EDIT: Broken registry.
No TeamViewer session possible, so we're going for a full uninstall/reinstall.
1. Uninstall everything.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Check in the registry (Windows key + R, then type regedit): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Wow6432Node>Sims. No Sims 3 game should be here anymore. If there are leftovers, delete them.
4. Install the base game. DO NOT APPLY ANY CRACK.
5. Use the Manual Patch to update your game to 1.67 (check the version on the Launcher).
6. Install all EPs and SPs. DO NOT USE ANY CRACK.
7. Copy the files from the #Crack folder of the Ultimate Fix to the base game install folder (like instructed).
That's it, your game should work!

Re: After updating to 1.67 getting an error when trying to open the launcher. (SOLVED)
Followed all of Shamrock's instructions and while going through and reinstalling the games I found that a few were not from G4TW. So I had some EP from different uploaders. I do not know if this might have been part of the original problem. I did not install those but got new downloads and made sure they were all from the same uploader.
All EP and SP are installed, game is up to date, and working great.
Thank you everyone for your help.
