Port Forwarding?

Port Forwarding?
Hi,
I've successfully port forwarded my PC with a Static IP but no one can access the server but me. I am using the same way to logon as they are but only I can access it. I'm not sure whats wrong?
Its for Minecraft. I am using external IP to logon but my friends can't logon as well. They are in same town as me.
I tried to login to theirs but I get the same disconnection or no connection from them and we have both port forwarded correctly. Do you think its because my internet is slow? As I think it could be but I'm not sure.?
Thanks,
Layloria

Re: Port Forwarding?
Hi there,
No, it's probably not the internet speed.
Did you forward the port to your PC's internal IP? Can you show us a screenshot of the configuration?
And one more thing: can they see that your server is online? (After adding it, you'll see those green bars in the server list, if they can "see" the server) What error do they get when they try to connect?

Re: Port Forwarding?
Hello,
They can login but for not long, longer not using the CMD console. Sometimes they don't get any connection. I used my laptop connecting to the External IP and its connection is ok?
They have good internet, 10-20mbps.
Thanks,
Layloria

Re: Port Forwarding?
Hi there,
First of all, I recommend that you connect via an ethernet cable, when testing. Cables will pretty much always be a lot faster than wireless.
Can you please post a screenshot of your router's port forwarding settings? Or PM me the picture, whatever you like.
Note that the port has to be pointing to your laptop's internal IP address, and not your external IP address.

Re: Port Forwarding?
Hello,
I am using ethernet cable. 10m I'm afraid
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Technicolor/TG582n_Technicolor/Minecraft_Server.htm
Some screenshots here from the Guide I used.
And here are some I made earlier
MINECRAFT CONFIG:
PC ITS CONNECTED TO:
FINAL LOOK:
I am not too sure if my port forward is to my IP. I just followed the guide, IP is Static and the people can login using external, my laptop can login using internal and external. Same internet for laptop and my host pc.
Thanks by the way,
Layloria

Re: Port Forwarding?
Hi there,
So the people can join and are then kicked. You didn't say what error they get when they're kicked, did you?
By the way, does the world actually load for them? (Can they walk around and stuff)
Please open a command prompt and type /ipconfig followed by hitting [ENTER]. Look for "IPv4 address" and see what it's value is.
(Is "Stitch-PC" the PC on which the server is hosted?)

Thanks,
Layloria

Re: Port Forwarding?
Hi there,
It's hard to tell what is causing the issue.
I can take a look via TeamViewer, when we're both online sometime. Just join the Chatbox when you see me online and send me a PM. I'll let you know if I have time to join and help.
