NOTE: DO NOT SKIP ANY STEPS AND READ EVERY STEP VERY CAREFULLY. DO EVERY SINGLE STEP EXACTLY AS WRITTEN BELOW, BEFORE POSTING ANY PROBLEMS !

The guide can also be useful for those of you who are having issues with the game on Windows 8 & Windows 10, and no matter if you have purchased the legit version or not !

Hello all,

In the following you will find a simplified installation guide for Games4TheWorld's "The Sims Medieval"-releases ("The Sims Medieval" & "The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles"). Let's go. *MUST READ* How to install The Sims Medieval correctly. Icon_biggrin

1) Your first step will obviously be to download "The Sims Medieval" and/or "The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles", which you can find on this page here (click!). Note that you will also need to download and install a bittorrent client to download stuff from there; I personally recommend uTorrent, which you can find here.

After downloading, you should end up with one or two .RAR files (depending on whether you downloaded just the Medieval base game and/or the expansion "Pirates & Nobles" too). You must open and extract those files with the program WinRAR, which you can also get from here (install instructions are included) - look for the WinRAR 4.20 version.

Now make an empty folder somewhere on your computer - name it "The Sims Medieval" if you want. You now open the .RAR of "The Sims Medieval", and mark all contents inside the .RAR, with your mouse. After that, drag and drop the marked contents out of the .RAR and into the empty folder you just created.

After extraction, close WinRAR and go to the folder with the extracted content. Start the installation with the SimsMedievalSetup.exe; if you need a serial number, open the included InstallationGuide.txt and copy + paste a serial from there into the prompt. Proceed with the installation until done.

2) Your next step will be to update the game to the latest available version. For that, I recommend you use the "manual patch" version 2.0.113.00001, which you can find here:

-- link(s) removed --

After downloading, simply double-click on the downloaded file to start the patching process; follow the instructions until the end. When you're done, Do NOT delete the patch yet - keep it on your computer for now !

Extra note: in the event that you get some sort of error message when applying the patch I just linked to, download and apply this other patch here, version 2.0.113.00007:

-- link(s) removed --

3) ***NOTE: if you plan on installing the expansion "Pirates and Nobles" too, then please skip this step and continue with #4 *MUST READ* How to install The Sims Medieval correctly. Then, you can download and apply the "Medieval Ultimate fix" which you can find here:
https://www.games4theworld.club/t916-the-sims-medieval-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

After the download, extract ONLY the #crack-folder from the fix out of the .RAR. Now copy the three extracted files,TSM.exeTSLHost.dll and rld.dll. Then paste the files into the Medieval base game install location, which by default will be C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval\Game\Bin. When prompted, please choose "Copy and Replace" for all files ! Then you can either start the game from the TSM.exe in that install location, or make a shortcut to the desktop from that file, and then start the game. *MUST READ* How to install The Sims Medieval correctly. If you bought the Medieval base game via Origin; the base game install location will normally be C:\Program files(x86)\Origin Games\The Sims Medieval\Game\Bin. So please apply the files from the Ultimate fix to this location then.

4) Installing the expansion "Pirates and Nobles" is pretty much the same as with the base game (step #1). Make again an empty folder somewhere on your computer - and this time name it "The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles" if you want. You now open the .RAR of "The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles", and mark all contents inside the .RAR, with your mouse. After that, drag and drop the marked contents out of the .RAR and into the empty folder you just created.

After the extraction, close WinRAR and go to the folder with the extracted content. Start the installation with the SimsMedievalEP01Setup.exe; if you need a serial number, open the included InstallationGuide.txt and copy + paste a serial from there into the prompt. Proceed with the installation until finished.

5) Re-apply the patch from step #2 above (that's why I mentioned before you should keep the patch for now *MUST READ* How to install The Sims Medieval correctly. Icon_biggrin ). This is important, in order to fix some in-game glitches. If you get a notice saying that the game "is already patched", ignore it and simply re-apply the update.

Note that you should use the patch version that you used already in step #2 again. So if you initially used the 2.0.113.00001 patch, then please re-apply that patch version again. You get the idea (hopefully). Very Happy

6) Now, you MUST download and apply the "Medieval Ultimate fix" which you can find - again - here:
https://www.games4theworld.club/t916-the-sims-medieval-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

As usual, after the download, extract ONLY the #crack-folder from the fix out of the .RAR.

Again, if you bought the Medieval base game via Origin; the install location will normally be C:\Program files(x86)\Origin Games\The Sims Medieval\Game\Bin. So please apply the files from the Ultimate fix to this location then.

7) Enjoy "The Sims Medieval" !  *MUST READ* How to install The Sims Medieval correctly. Icon_biggrin
