Hello,

Is the version of your flashcard even compatible with the firmware of your DS(i) console ? Note that DS firmwares are updated very often, and by default that happens automatically. You'll need to make sure to NOT update the firmware of the DS. And also gather the relevant information on any support sites of your flashcard.

Also note that once you (accidentally) update the firmware of the console, you cannot (easily) revert back to an older firmware version.

That's the most obvious thing that comes to my mind. Note that I myself haven't gotten too much into this issue yet, so I can't help too much with that, unfortunately.
