eSata V/s USB 3.0 External Hard Disk

HI,

i wanna know which of these 2 is a better option for storing data life long, basically mp3 files. my main concern is its speed & data security.
n ya size will be 4 TB

Good question. I'm not sure whether my answer is correct, but seen the fast that you want to store 4TB (!), I think eSata would be better, since it should be faster than USB 3.0 . I think USB 3.0 is better for plug, play/copy and then take it out.

What exactly do you want to do? Do you have óne 4TB HDD? What I mean is, do you want to put the files on the HDD and then not use them for a long time or do you want to use it as a normal external HDD?

yeah exactly i gonna do this, will save all my data on HDD. CD/DVD are almost outdated storage medias. we need smtng new n truly reliable. it hurts when u cant get back ur fav songs 4m a DVD coz it has cyclic error on it or you dont know out of 800 DVD u hv in which on you have ur file

In that case - for storage only - it doesn't really matter which one you use. The only difference is - as far as I know - that eSata would speed up the process a little bit. But since it's a one-time copy for now, it really doesn't matter.
