The Sims 3 version 1.69.
Hello team,
I (finally) managed to come up with an announcement on The Sims 3's 1.69 patch version, which has been out now since mid-November last year or so. Read it here.
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t22114-small-announcement-regarding-the-sims-3-version-1-69-36-0240
In case you're wondering, the update includes an "expansion manager" that allows you to "select" what expansions you want to activate for your game. It allegedly conflicts with the CAW-tool (not sure if that has been updated too now). And of course, people who have mixed the legit Origin basegame of The Sims 3 with pirated expansions/stuffpacks will find that this update has screwed and borked up everything...
Should you feel unsure about any help requests related to that on the forum, you can leave them up to me. Or ask in this thread here, too.

Good news:
http://simscommunity.info/2016/01/06/the-sims-3-new-game-update-1-69-caw-compatibility/
The second CAW link there (that says "if you did not take part in the update"), appears to be consistent with the old CAW, that is also in the opening post here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t7423-download-link-for-the-create-a-world-tool
Downloading it now myself, before EA decides to take that down for some reason.

Re: The Sims 3 version 1.69.
Good idea regarding that update. I have it, as I have the base game + Nightlife + High End Loft Stuff on Origin, and it adds absolutely nothing of importance. And it's not just an annoyance for people with pirated EPs/SPs, but also for anyone that had any kind of Hack/Mod or Custom Content in their game. It's known that Modders like Twallan have already retired from modding The Sims, leaving their very useful mods updated to the (thought) last patch, 1.67. The 1.69 messes up with a lot of these mods, like Master Controller and Story Progression, and with the Awesomemod from Pescado at MATY. For now, I've had no problems running the 1.69 version with G4TW's Expansion Packs, they work as usual, but I can't use those Mods mentioned earlier, and I'm sure there are a lot of others that I haven't noticed.
I'm planning on downgrading to 1.67 through various methods that I've found, to see which one works for me, but for now I've been playing The Sims 2.

I never downgraded myself. Maybe it helps if you just (properly) remove/uninstall the basegame, and re-install with the 1.67 patch. But I guess that would be almost too simple to work.
And good to know about these mods ! Without testing that, I wouldn't have expected that to be a problem...

Yeah, that's one of the methods for downgrading that I've found. Others also say that applying the Manual Patch can also downgrade... I don't know, I haven't tried any of those. If everything fails, I'll have to just reinstall the game.

Thanks for letting us know. I wasn't even aware of a new patch for The Sims 3.
I have added a link to your Announcement at the top of the TS3 Ultimate Fix topic.

Alright, thanks for that. Here's another update:
It seems the major difference in this "new" 1.69 patch lies within the launcher. You now have the option to (de-)select expansions/stuffpacks, so that their content shows up in-game (or not), depending on your choice. I don't even know if that "feature" works if you added pirated stuff to your Origin basegame - probably not I guess.
Lately, a lot of people have been posting here about these launcher problems, and I initially thought it was due to the 1.67 Ultimate fix being rendered useless by that new update. But that is not the case seemingly. These launcher issues seem to affect those who have the base game of TS3 on Origin, and the issue can be fixed by disconnecting the internet - followed by using the launcher then. At least that's what some other users reported here too.
Also, there is a new version of Create-A-World, which I mentioned already above. But the topic on the forum about the CAW-link is still valid, for people with who pirated their entire TS3 stuff and hence are on patch level 1.67. It would be interesting to find out if the people who are on the 1.69 patch, but are using the 1.67 Ultimate fix, can use that old CAW version. Or if they need to switch to the new one. But I guess that's just a minor issue for the moment.
