Annoying full screen black border.
So I just upgraded to Windows 10, and my old card which is a RADEON HD 4850, has a fullscreen game problem, when I play a game that uses fullscreen it has those eyesore black borders, it doesn't happened on Windows Start Screen, here's a better picture for what I'm saying.
It doesn't happened because I use Overscan. Which is okay, I don't have to do anything.
Something that you should now first:
My RADEON HD 4850 can't support Windows 10 well, I have to use third party method to enable Catalyst Control Center...
I already "OVERSCAN" the display to fit in the Windows start screen, but full screen video games didn't follow the "Overscan" setting, it reverts back to the borders.
I'm using The Sims Castaway Stories as an example, All FULL-SCREEN games are like that...

Re: Annoying full screen black border.
That's still a rather big picture
Some games have the option to play in windowed mode but borderless, that could be an option, though I don't think The Sims games have that option. Or you can play in windowed mode and drag the window to "almost" fit your screen, depending on what you feel is less annoying, the borders/taskbar or the borders you're dealing with now.
But first, see if there are any Windows 10 compatible drivers for your graphics card, if you haven't done so already. It's entirely possible that there aren't any, but you never know.

Out of interest, does it make a difference when you choose another in-game screen resolution, in the options settings of the game ?
