Oh.My.Goodness! I'm SOOOOOO excited!!!! NOT. Hopefully the employees will actually work this time instead of chatting all day. (That's what happened when I open a retail business in Get To Work.) Honestly though it looks nice, it just doesn't tickle my fancy.

Some of those 'bigger' Sims 4 DLC have catchy names:
- Get to Work
- Get together
- Dine out
Psychologically interesting stuff, so the marketing folks put some thought into it. But a catchy name/product cover isn't going to be an end in itself.

They are taking too long to release Expansion packs. It looks good but I would prefer an expansion pack. This waiting is annoying

After TS2 and especially the phenomenal success of TS3, they seem to be running out of ideas now for TS4. Also, there is nothing else really comparable on the game market in terms of life simulators, so EA don't have any competition on that. There used to be an open source-project that aimed to offer an alternative life simulation, but the project was cancelled due to a lack of funding (see this here). Maybe one reason the project failed was because it was announced/started at a time when TS3 was still very active and popular. Most people enjoyed TS3 so much, so why support such a project ? Nowadays, the idea could have more potential but ultimately that is only speculation.
I'm guessing that The Sims 5 will be some form of MMO(RPG)-type of life simulation that will require a permanent internet connection and where you "interact" in an online world. In my eyes a logical consequence of recent trends, that focus more and more on the "multiplayer-only" & "always online"-experience.
Guess it's time to move to other stuff, like Minecraft, then.

Personally, I'm not even considering TS4 until they release at least something along the lines of Pets and Seasons.

Re: The Sims 4 Dine Out & Kids Room Stuff.
I would love if they took the expansions of ts3 and put them into ts4. without 40 expansion/stuff packs though.

Re: The Sims 4 Dine Out & Kids Room Stuff.
The franchise really hit jackpot with releasing The Sims 3 and as sims 3 era progressed they ran out of ideas and and decided to make The Sims 4. It's really good game but it doesn't have that Sims charm. It misses a lot of stuff like sesons, pets and especially toodlers. Their excuse is that their engine isn't capable of that because it has some limitations. And those loading screen. Uh! In Sims 4 they got on side of marketing and not creative and funny side that really got me to play Sims franchise and stoood out of the other games.
In every sims 4 addon I just see retextures and meshes of items that we got in base game. Sure, they got some new gameplay elements that should have been included in base game but they are putting them in ridiculously high priced game pack or stuff packs that they are making for ages and it has really unoriginal content.
I might me a bit too detailed but when you look The trailer from Sims 3 and Sims 4 addons I think that Sims 3 got fantastic trailer that got me pumped. I saw bunch of new gameplay elements, originaly content. When I see Sims 4 trailer I just got dissapointed where franchise went and releases really boring contect.
The Sims 3 would be best game ever if they added what they've created for The Sims 4 like new CAS, Build Mode, and other tweaks and improvement .

I feel like this should have been a part of GTW but i guess EA needs their money lol.
But look on the bright side, hopefully the ultimate fix will be updated some time in June.

Well, I feel like an alien reading this topic. I love community lots and making cute and realistic downtown, and actually, one of my first wishes since the beginning was to have functional restaurants. So I'm pretty excited about this ! I didn't realise there was so many people who didn't care about restaurant lol

TS4 Dine Out
Do you guys think that new game pack will be enough to make hackers a new crack for game, because they always doing it when EP are releasted, and EA will realease new EP just in autumn, that`s like way to long...

Hello @theBloomie,
I merged your post to the existing (other) thread. Only time can tell though what the scene groups will do. We have no way of knowing in advance. I myself am making various preparations though, in case it does get released...

Re: The Sims 4 Dine Out & Kids Room Stuff.
My guess is that Reloaded will come with a crack soon after Dine Out is released.
It will then include Romantic Garden and Film Night.
Or is it just wishful thinking ?

If this one is going to be cracked (which I as well, guess they will), I'm sure they will include the previous additions to the game as well.

Re: The Sims 4 Dine Out & Kids Room Stuff.
I don't think Dine Out is going to be cracked because new child themed stuff pack is coming soon in June. I suppose after this child themed stuff pack they are going to work on another expansion pack.

Re: The Sims 4 Dine Out & Kids Room Stuff.
Wasn't The Sims 4 supposed to be always-online though? (see The Sims Olympus) But they scrapped the idea after what happened to SimCity.Carlos wrote:princess1404 wrote:They are taking too long to release Expansion packs. It looks good but I would prefer an expansion pack. This waiting is annoying

Actually, you're almost correct, based on rumors.
Sims 4 had pre-release rumors that the product was being mismanaged and that after the massive flop that was SimCity thanks to the forced DRM, the project was completely converted from being an online social game to a typical Sims experience. This is why you see little oddities such as perfectly flat lots or toddlers missing, the rumors claim, because they had to rush to convert the game over to a standard experience using an engine with online gameplay in mind.
So it's actually doubtful Sims 5 will be as you claim since they've actively avoided that in the past, but it's clear they'll gladly get as close to that as allowed before there's consumer backlash.

On the other hand, there are EA games such as Titanfall, PvZ: Garden Warfare 1 & 2 that require a permanent internet connection. OK, these are shooter games that are meant to be played in multiplayer-mode, but still. Another detail: both Garden Warfare games, and especially the second one, have had their fair share of server problems, so EA are not shy to throw out games like that. Did they learn from the backlash in SimCity 5 ? Maybe a little, but not that much. I doubt this technical trend will "reverse". We are going to see more and more games that will require a permanent internet connection, sadly. And as a "nice" side-effect, you cannot realistically crack those multiplayer-only games. At least it would take a ton of effort.
Getting back to Sims, I mentioned it in the past already, but most people expected too much of TS4. Especially those who played earlier titles. The concept of a singleplayer-only & sandbox-type life simulation may be at its end.
If I was a creative think-tank working for EA, I would have no ideas either. After TS2 and TS3, what can you do better ? They already dumbed down (I don't like that expression actually, but it still fits) the build-mode and CAS too. You have simultaneous interactions, like working out and chatting with other sims, OK. And these emotional states that can have some degree of influence on your sim's conduct. But not much more.
Interesting - mostly in terms of marketing - is that they are now trying to appeal to various groups of players who share a common interest in a relatively narrow (real-life) subject. Such as
- Outdoor Retreat: for those interested in camping, nature, etc.
- Perfect Patio Stuff: outdoor partying
- Movie Hangout Stuff: for the movie-lovers
- Get together: about clubs, dancing, social gathering, etc.
- Get to Work: a mix of the most "popular" careers, such as detective, doctor, and scientist.
And so forth. Despite what many people back then (see e.g. this older thread here) thought, we are probably going to see a multitude of mini-DLC instead. Furthermore: I doubt we are going to see 'classic' expansions such as Pets or Seasons. More realistic in my eyes is that these subject matters will be broken down further in order to appeal more effectively to the various interest groups. We could see a DLC about cats, another one about dogs. Maybe a summer-DLC, an autumn-DLC, a winter-DLC, and so on. Of course, that is only speculation from my part, but still.
