DLC won't load, even after following instructions
As the topic suggests, I installed TS4 with all of its DLC exactly as the instructions explained. However, none of them are loading. Only the base game is loading. I've done this before on an older computer, and it worked just fine. What changed and how do I fix it?

Have you applied the ultimate fix ? - You should NOT !!!
Just install base game - Get to Work - Get Together and City Living.

I have not installed that. I knew it was included with City Living. And yet, here I am.

Hello,
What is your base game?
Did you get all games from G4TW?

Of course. Like I've send a couple times now, I've followed the instructions VERY carefully, not installing the 'Ultimate Fix' if installing all DLC, and used ONLY those provided by G4TW.

Alright.
How do you know the expansions are not loading?
Can you show us a screenshot please?
Sorry, just trying to understand where this could have gone wrong...

Re: DLC won't load, even after following instructions
I remember that, upon loading it up with the DLC working, the title screen will change to correspond with its newest DLC. However, upon launching the game here, it loads the title screen of the base game.
To add to that, there's suppose to be an additional button on the title screen that allows you to see what DLC is installed. However, that's not available in the base game alone.
And I know it's not loading, because I also played it a bit, and it was missing the content the DLC provided.

Wait, by DLC, you mean expansion packs too?
Oh wow, that's weird...
Do you have an Origin official TS4 base game on the side? That could create conflicts...
Can you try, just to be safe, to apply the Ultimate Fix? (I like the old ways )

Yes, when I mean DLC, I'm referring to the Expansion Packs.
As for Origin, I do not have a copy of TS4 via Origin. I do have TS3 via Origin, but 1) I don't plan on installing that anytime soon; 2) That's irrelevant to this.
It shouldn't be necessary to apply the 'Ultimate Fix', as it's automatically applied through the City Living expansion.

Oh, my bad, I thought you were coming here for help... you talk like you know more than us all ^^
Well, I am out of ideas, and you do not seem to be following my advice.
Let's see if someone else has ideas?

Re: DLC won't load, even after following instructions
*sigh* I have been around for a while, but I don't know everything. I'll give it a try.
//EDIT
Good news! I got it all fixed! It turns out that I needed to move The Sims 4 folder out of the Electronic Arts folder in Program File (x86). After I did that, it works like a charm!

This is actually mentioned in the guide here:

Always make sure to check this guide first for the most basic install procedure - the post gets updated whenever new DLC are out, and it is stickied to the op in every Forum subsection. Was there anything else you needed help with for the moment?

Well, I did make note of that, but it said it was optional. That's why it threw me off; it was supposedly optional and I didn't do it.The_gh0stm4n wrote:MarioMinecraftMix wrote:It turns out that I needed to move The Sims 4 folder out of the Electronic Arts folder in Program File (x86). In my opinion, the instructions are clear. Maybe the wording "if you want to use the 32-bit/64-bit version" is a bit strange, but then in both cases it says "move under C:\Program files (x86)". I mean, there is nothing else besides the 32-bit and 64-bit .exe. Maybe you thought there was something else, and therefore you got confused?
I'm deliberating so much about this by the way, in order to seek out possibilities to improve the text.
