Expansion Help

Hi, I've only got as far as downloading and extracting the expansion packs for The Sims 4 on my Mac, don't have a clue where to go from here and the PC Download guide doesn't help.
I know there are a few threads on here but some are quite old so I was wondering if any solutions have been found?
