Trouble after installing dlc :(

Hi all, installing the base game went perfetly for me no problems there.
However after installing the DLC the game wouldn't start. I decided to completely uninstall using revo pro. after i reinstalled the base game and tried to start it though i received the message "contents of your user directory are from a newer version of the sims etc" advising me to update my game via origin.


what should i do here? i'm think it was the get together expansion that messed up my first install too.



UPDATE : SO I GOT IT WORKING AGAIN WITH THE DLC UP TO GET TOGETHER. SCARED TO TRY CITY LIVING LOL

UPDATE 2 : SO yeah it turns out that installing city living is what is causing the game to stop working at the load screen.

Do you have any mods or custom content installed? If so, have you tried removing those? Also, are you sure you applied the DLC in the following order? Get to Work -> Get together -> City Living?

hi sorry for my own late reply
i have installed the first two no problems, but anytime i install city living, the game stops working.
I have no mods installed only the base game and dlc from here

Update via Origin error:
Just delete the file GameVersion from the folder Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
