Hi!

This bug seems to appear even in the legit game so not to worry (or maybe we all should).
1) Are you playing the sims with free will turn on? If you do, turn it off (although game play will be kind of boring if you're not used to it) and see if the sims are able to their tasks.
2) Try to reset on the sims. Enabled cheat in the game, press shift and click on the sim then choose reset.
3) Move the sim (or family) out from the lot, and replaced them back either at the same lot or choose a different house.
4) Your saves might be corrupted however, so if the above doesn't work, move the saves folder out, OR revert to an old save and see if it works.
5) Alternatively, the most common problem seems to be the latest update, so, install till City Living, or perhaps just the base game and see if the problem exists. If it does not, unfortunately, for the time being you might no be able to play the newest update.
6) Or, you could try the ZLOrigin method that Tarac had provided if all else fails.

PS: Sorry this looks lengthy (but not) and do keep us updated! Very Happy
