Recurring error [85262c58:29f00e76:00000000:00000000]
After installing the game and all the expansion packs and fixes included in the instructions, the game works perfectly, no errors at all.
The problem is, every two days I get this error upon starting up the game and then I can't use it at all:
"Cannot start because required game data is missing or damaged. Please repair or reinstall the game via Origin [85262c58:29f00e76:00000000:00000000]"
Re-installing the base game and all the expansion packs fixes the error until two days later when it comes back. I've read through all the fixes and instructions I can find and can't find anything to solve this issue except reinstalling everything every 2 days which works but is really annoying and time consuming.
I don't use any mods or custom content. I don't have Origin running on my computer. My saves are not corrupted because when I remove my saves and try starting, the error still comes up. And when I reinstall the game and all the EPs and put my old saves into the fresh file, they work perfectly until 2 days later.
I always start my game with administrator mode, all the game files are marked as exceptions in my antivirus program. I don't even use any CAS cheats or anything in game.
I'm not sure why this error is only coming up every so often and it's perfectly fine before that. It's like it corrupts itself after 2 days.

Have you tried a fresh folder The Sims 4 in User\Documents\Electronic Arts ?
Just call your present one The Sims 4_old and restart your game.

Thanks for you response, I hadn't tried that before. I just tried it now and it didn't seem to have any effect. The same error came up. I did have a clean install backup folder that I tried to use also and that didn't seem to have any effect either.

There are two things I can suggest at the moment.
- Go to your Sims 4 base folder (around 8.3GB) and click on the The_Sims_4_Setup.exe. Choose Repair if the options comes up and see if you can run the game now.
- If you do not have the base game however, then at this point, uninstall the Sims 4 using Your Uninstaller from our site here and then install the game again. I know you've always re-install it when this error comes up, but perhaps a fresh install might help.
Alternatively, you can always check your folders in your installation path to see if anything is missing as well.

Let ZLOrigin repair your game.
You can still play off-line if you wish.

Thanks so much for your replies.
What is ZLOrigin? I don't seem to have that.
I used the The_Sims_4_Setup.exe file to repair the game and it seemed to do nothing but create a new Sims 4 file in OS (C:)\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 and brought up the same error when I tried to run it.
Since I had moved my Sims 4 folder out of the Electronic Arts folder and into OS (C:)\Program Files (x86) according to the instructions when installing the expansions, I figured maybe I should move that file back into Electronic Arts, run the repair again and then move the folder back to Program Files once the repair finished. Well the game ran successfully after that but it's not recognizing any of the expansion packs or stuff packs that I installed, it's only running the base game.
Yet all the stuff pack and expansion pack folders are still in the game folder where I had installed them. So I figured since I had all of the folders installed still, maybe I could just reinstall the last stuff pack and see if it would recognize all of the SP and EP I previously installed. No luck, now I'm getting the error again.
I'm just doing a fresh install of everything all over again now but I know I will have the error back again in the next couple of days. I can't figure out why it seems to corrupt itself when I haven't messed with any files.
Any other ideas for me?

The_Sims_4_Setup.exe is not a repair program. It only installs the base game again in Program Files (x86)|Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. So you'd better remove that installation.
ZLOrigin is a cracked version of the real Origin. Via ZLOrigin you can install/repair/update ALL original expansions for free. (as if you had bought them via Origin)
How to get ZLOrigin, see https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t30092-zlorigin-made-simple?highlight=zlorigin+made+simple#
Once you have ZLOrigin installed, go to my games in ZLOrigin, rightclick on the picture of The Sims 4 and select Repair.
Your existing game will be repaired, missing DLC's installed and all is updated to version 1.34.
To play off-line, make a new folder Game_cracked in your existing The Sims 4 folder.
Copy the folder Game from Fitness to this new folder Game_cracked, then copy RldOrigin.ini from your highest installed DLC also to Game_cracked. Make shortcuts from TS4 or TS4_x64.exe from Game_cracked for your Desktop.
You now can play on-line via ZLOrigin via the folder Game and off-line via the folder Game_cracked.
As the cracked version (at this moment 1.33) is not equal the the Origin version (1.34) you'll get the error "Unable to start, higher version, update via Origin". Just copy the file Default.ini from the Folder Game\Bin to the folder Game_cracked\Bin. Both versions are now 1.34.
When playing the cracked version, make sure Origin and ZLOrigin are not active on your computer.
