TSM with CC. [SOLVED] Empty TSM with CC. [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Sun 08 Oct 2017, 14:23

I've followed every piece of advice on the internet about uploading cc, but it still does not load when I play it. I place the Mods folder in the installation folder: Program files (x86)/Electronic arts/The Sims Medieval. Then I do the same thing to the Resource.cfg file, and finally i place the d3dx9_31.dll file in Program Files (x86)/Electronic Arts/The Sims Medieval/Game/Bin.I do all of that but nothing happens. Could someone please help me  Why God. Why God.

As far as I know the Mods folder should be in Documents\Electronic Arts ?
Same applies for Recource.cfg

Hello and welcome to the Forum @Botticelli,

Are you sure the mods you are trying to use, are compatible for the game (The Sims Medieval)? Normally, following the procedure should be unproblematic:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t29525-how-to-install-mods-in-the-sims-medieval#170822

Try downloading a few more CC items and see if at least some of them show up. Good luck for now!

Hi @Botticelli ,

Hope I'm not too late. I recently installed the Sims Medieval as well and managed to get my mods, well CCs working. My mods, as you mentioned is under The Sims Medieval\Mods\Packages and the Resource.cfg is under The Sims Medieval (main directory). Just double - check that the .cfg file should look as below:
Code:
Priority 500
DirectoryFiles Mods/Packages/... autoupdate
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*/*.package

And not sure if this affected the mods as well but I enabled my testingcheats:
The Sims Medieval\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Ini\Commands.ini -> TestingCheatsEnabled=0 to TestingCheatsEnabled=1. Right-click on the .ini file first and uncheck Read-Only. After that, change the value and save. Make sure you make a backup copy beforehand.

I did not use the d3dx9_31.dll however since I have no scripted mods.

The files goes into Mods/Packages and not just Mods. You need a packages folder inside the mods folder. The mods folder goes into your installation map instead of documents.
Also, it would be better if you install TSM somewhere else instead of program files (x86), cause installing there could give problems with rights. This is especially the case with cracked games.
I always install my games into the E drive. Now i have to say that with Medieval i have a legal copy on Origin. I use cc as well and have installed into E:\Origin\originapps\The Sims Medieval\Mods\Packages  (have made a folder called originapps inside the origin folder and install games there)  Currently i use 74 files of cc.
cc for TSM is not big like the regular the sims, but there is some around. This blog has only TSM cc: http://sauris-sims.blogspot.coml/
I got most cc from there.

I was thinking the OP presumably referred to the guide HERE.

The download link posted there has a ready-to-use "Mods"-folder (including a "packages"-subfolder). It could be a permissions-error maybe; in which case this possible solution might be worth a try:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t17678-permissions-error-when-copying-cracked-files-fix

But this doesn't happen often. My guess is still that the CC items used are not compatible with The Sims: Medieval.

Thanks everyone! It all worked out, i realized I couldn't use normal TS3 CC in TSM. I had to find certain cc for that. Thank you for all the replies!
