Slow Down- and upload speeds !
Hello again
I'm so bad at posting my topic in the right direction I'm sorry.
The problem is, my upload- and download speeds are so bad right now. With bad I mean bad.
Watching a 10 minute video on Youtube, will rebuffer it like more than 20x. Not even 1 minute of watching and it's already stopping nd loading agaaaain...
It's SO fuckin' frustrating! Resetted my router already. Speedtest.net says like 1.5 mb Download speed and 0.70 mb/s Upload speed. I know the cause is the upload speed, that smart I am already
It's already for some months that this internet is so unregularly. And that's the biggest problem.
Example:
Day 1: Internet is just like it has to be: +- 15 MB download and 10 MB upload. No problems at all.
Day 2: Internet is NOT just like it has to be. +- 1.5 download and less than 1mb upload. Damn!
Day 3: The same as day 1
What the **** (im sorry!) is this? Is it causing my router like the Sitecom C9(... dont remember it exactly) or the other thing (which goes from Ziggo to Router)? We just changed that last thing not even 2 years ago. We first had linksys which was so well, but ''versleten'':$ so bought another one. This is so irritating..!! Hope you can help me. I've a 4/5 connection. I guess with cable it doens't make (much) difference.
Thanks!

Hi there,
Using the cable instead of wireless should give you faster results.

Re: Slow Down- and upload speeds !
Hello,
Remember that cable is always faster than wireless.
Anyhow, did this suddenly happen?
I recommend you pull both the Modem and the Router from the power for about 30-45 seconds. Just let it cool down. After a while, turn on the Modem first. Let it stay on for about 1-2 minutes.
Now, turn on the Router and let it boot up for about 1-2 minutes. When you've done all of this, restart your PC and check the result.
Also, how is the internet speed on all thes other computers in your network? Also slower or still the same a usual?
Let us know the result here.
Ps. If you don't know the difference between a Router and a Modem, ask someone in your household for more information!

Re: Slow Down- and upload speeds !
I just didn't remember the name Modum
The internet-browsing-surfing thing was just okey at my household members. At mine too. But just the download and upload speeds. I resetted the modum and now it's normal again. But is this overheating?

It's hard to say. Probably not overheating, but too much load or something. There's no harm in resetting the whole network now and then.
I really recommend using wired connection, if available. It speeds up your internet speed a lot and avoids lags and stuff like that.
Anyhow, it works now!
Also, since your Modem is about 2 years old, from what I understood, you might want to call your ISP and ask them whether they have a newer model and whether it's worth getting a new one. Sometimes your provider gives a new Modem after a few years, to maintain good speed etc.

Re: Slow Down- and upload speeds !
So now and then it isn't, but sometimes it's required more than once a day.
I know what you mean, I think something with data, just overspammed lol.
But, when Down and up was 10gb/s without cable and now (not anymore but.) 0.99, I guess it isn't causing the cable but just the reset or so.
Thanks though! Will look to this when its being irritating again!
//EDIT
Now my Download speed is 4.2 mb/s. That's my record man. Speedtest said
before downloading, with like 5 tabs open '36mb/s' and up 10 mb/s.
(if wondering what I'm downloading, I'm downloading Skyrim Dunno whether it's a good/trusted uploader but the speeds are nice though)
Admin edit: Please do not double-post, but use the "Edit" button instead. Thank you!

Well Skyrim, that one probably has a whole lot of seeds and leechers. Downloadspeeds also depends on the uploadspeeds of the people connecting to you.

Re: Slow Down- and upload speeds !
Yes so far I know about downloading Im told too: You can have hundreds of seeders, but when they all upload not even 500kb/s, and there are a lot of downloaders, you still won't have a high speed.
Download finished in half an hour cant see the uploaders right now.
//EDIT
Today it's down again.
Speedtest gives me a small 0.35 MB/s which is 350 kb/s downloading. Uploading 750KB/s. This is really, really aweful.
For
school, I have to hand something in concluding photos. I must download
photos from the school website. 25 MB size. Takes me a frickin'
16 hours which is getting more every 10 seconds? Hell now I'll get problems at school 'cause of this.
Upload
speed is so bad I can't watch a Youtube-movie on 360P. Normally I can
even get to 1080p. What the **** is this one!? Even 240p isn't surviving
it. Imagine when I have to upload a file to the school website.. Hell
yeah.
Okey exact download speed of the photo's: 300 Bytes the
second. BYTES not even Kilobytes. I'll give up and hope I'll not get
blamed tomorrow. It's causing the Modem. ' modem I hate this day.
Hope I'm ill tomorrow.

Re: Slow Down- and upload speeds !
Hello,
First of all, SpeedTest isn't always very accurate, don't count on it too much.
So, how about the speed on your other home PC's? (Especially the wired ones) Try those and see how the speed is on those.

Re: Slow Down- and upload speeds !
I'll try connecting it with a cable. Everyone in my wifi is being irritated of the internet so it's not only me. Today the problem is still there.
//EDIT
Including cable/wired it's even worse, according to Speedtest nog even
0.60 mb/s. The setting tab of wired connection shows me 1gb/s the max.
That's quite ******' high isn't it. This is aweful I hope I'll survive
at school.

Hi there,
How many people are connected? And did you secure your network with a password?

You can ignore the settings tab. It just shows the max speed your network card can handle, not your actual speed.
