Reshade Working? Empty Reshade Working?

Post by Guest Tue 06 Dec 2016, 00:53

Hello,

You all do amazing work here. Out of curiosity has anyone tried to use the program Reshade on GTW Sims 4 Fixes and gotten it to work? It loads fine in 64 bit but without the reshade program working.

Thanks,

Reshade Working? Empty Re: Reshade Working?

Post by Guest Mon 20 Nov 2017, 06:00

This is a good question. I have been trying to use Reshade and I'm having the same problem!

If I install it the game won't start up.
But once I uninstall Reshade the game works just fine.

Other people with the Origin TS4 have Reshade installled and it works just fine.

However I don't have this issue with my G4TW TS3 game. Last time I checked reshade worked fine in TS3.

//EDIT

I have been attempting things with the latest Version of reshade. Like I stated above the game will fail to load

I tried again with the other version of reshade 2.0 and instead of the game crashing, RESHADE crashed. And none of the reshade files were installed.

Again, has anyone has this issue?
As anyone been able to get TS4 to work with Reshade?

Hello all!

I'm not familiar with the program, though I downloaded the latest version from here:
https://reshade.me/

And then "ran" the program, downloaded a few things. After which I got this here:

Reshade Working? QEjQox7fSPu_xJ90qUXqqw

Closed the window. And then I see there are two new files under C:\Program files\The Sims 4\Game\Bin. A dxgi.dll and dxgi.ini. Then a folder reshade-shaders. Game starts fine as well, but...what then?

The instructions here say to bring up a menu after the game starts, with SHIFT + F2, but nothing happens on my end.

Tried the same with another game ("Kholat", the GOG-based version from G4TW here), but still no success.

Maybe I'm overlooking something very simple and it's also very late on my end at the time I'm writing this, but for now my guess would that this thing only works on "supported" .exe files, since the instructions linked above reference a "Games section" with a list of sorts.

Tomorrow I'll try with my legit GTA V on Steam and some other legit games, and see how it goes from there. I wouldn't be surprised though that since cracked and legit .exe files are typically different, that there is some catch regarding this tool, and that this doesn't work on cracked games.

Your TS4 game actually started?

That's my issue it doesn't start with TS4. I install it with no issue like you did. But when I click on the shortcut to launch the game and run it as administrator, it looks like it's going to start but it never does.

I've used the G4TW's TS3 with the most recent reshade and the previous reshade 2.0. It worked fine with TS3.

I've tried it with my legit Steam FallOut 4 and it worked as well (though it lagged)

I think you have to use the FN key as well as shift and F2.

Sorry, haven't really found the time/energy to get back to this. WhatDidUJustCallMe?  But have you chosen the shader that is supported by your graphics card? (see my previous screenshot above). I chose Direct 3D 10+. Or maybe try using a different shader option, and see if your game starts up with any of these?
