Should I play sims 3 again? Empty Should I play sims 3 again?

I am at a loss on whether or not I should get the sims 3 again after finally fixing my pc, I do love the game but it runs like trash. I would love your thoughts, and or ways to make it run smoother.

honestly the only way i found to enjoy the game was when i upgraded and built a custom gaming PC, my specs allow the game to run as smoothly as the game itself will allow, but before that i usually played it windowed and graphics low. when running it on a pc that crashes alot, its recommended to limit your CC count to less than 50. the more cc the higher the load. if you dont use cc, and it still crashes, i dont think it will run smoothly.

you can use also try running the mode the game runs in. click the sims icon on your desktop and go to properties, go to the compatibility tab and change the format the game runs in e.g. windows 7/8/10 etc. it might help solve your crashing issue.

Also make sure to download the 4GB patch here:
http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php

And apply it to the TS3W.exe under C:\Program files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. Will only work though if you have a 64-bit operating system, and if the computer has...preferably 8GB of RAM, or more. This should also help a little.

In addition, check out this here as well (strongly recommended, although it is not directly related to game performance):

It's hard to make it smoother.
I used to play it and it was laggy as hell, kept crashing too. Try not installing packs you don't play with (pets used to make my game crash) and run it by a booster like Razer Cortex, it did help a lot. After i got rid of pets and started using Razer Cortex it was better to play with and didn't crash. I stopped playing cuz don't have a lot of space on my PC now.
*Also try using virtual RAM, they suggest one in this forum try searching for it, i think ghostman posted it.
^lol i just noticed Ghostman already posted a comment. Anyway i'll keep it so u can see it worked for others

Virtual memory is actually something different than what I described, but let's indeed not get too technical here. Smile  The trick with not installing unwanted expansions/stuffpacks is also very good advice, especially if you have a weak/old computer. Should make a HUGE difference.
