Problems Moving Installation to Program Files from Program Files (x86) Empty Problems Moving Installation to Program Files from Program Files (x86)

Post by Guest Fri 05 Jan 2018, 19:59

Hello! I just installed Cats & Dogs and it ran perfectly, however I did get the warning that the 32 bit version was being used and could lead to instability, so I followed the recommendation in the installation guide to move my installation to Program Files and always run the 64 bit version as a precaution. However, when I try this, my Origin starts and therefore I cannot run the game. I would appreciate any help you all could offer me with this, thanks in advance!

Hello @moodflower,

Keep in mind that since your game is now installed (located) under a different filepath, any anti-virus or Windows Defender exclusions that you may have set before, do not apply anymore.

Meaning, you have to set new exclusion rules to accomodate the filepath C:\Program files. Assuming you have Windows 10, look here for a method to turn off Windows Defender. If you have any other security software beyond that, you have to make the necessary arrangements there as well.

After doing so, you have to re-apply the No-Origin files, since from what you describe they seem to have taken some damage. The "Game-folder" for Cats & Dogs can be fetched here:
https://tinyurl.com/y8qhlv8o

Copy/paste that folder over your existing Game-folder and you should be fine. Good luck!

Piece of cake.
