Savefiles in a new laptop.
Hi! I don't know if my question is part of this category or not , but I changed my laptop and I wonder if it's possible to install the sims again on the new laptop and keep playing with my family? is there a way to transfer the saved files? and if that's the case, how can I do so? I hope you can help me, thanks in advance .

Re: Savefiles in a new laptop.
Copy Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to an external driver or a USB stick or a cloud-service
On the new computer install whatever you have installed now, then copy back your The Sims 4 folder to your new computer.

No, don't replace the folder with the old one. Copy everything from "saves" folder in the destination [(my) documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4]vane11 wrote:hi, thanks1 so when I install the game in the new laptop , do I replace that folder for the old folder?Dandelion wrote:Copy Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to an external driver or a USB stick or a cloud-service

If you "replace" a folder that has the same name as the old folder, then nothing will happen, so in the end it doesn't matter if folders are merged or not.

I don't agree. Look at the Game folders where merging was not the correct solution.The_gh0stm4n wrote:MilosGamerSRB wrote:No, don't replace the folder with the old one.

In this context though I was specifically referring to the situation described by the topic starter (transferring the old savefolder). But still, thanks for the effort.
