The Sims 2 Complete Collection by Carlos-Installed as instructed and no expansion packs are showing in-game, can only create downtown Empty The Sims 2 Complete Collection by Carlos-Installed as instructed and no expansion packs are showing in-game, can only create downtown

I installed the files as instructed, to the letter. The game runs and seems to play fine. The issue I'm having is that I cannot see any expansion packs available to use beyond being prompted to create a downtown, which is included in the deluxe edition.

Things that might be causing it:

Since I need to install anything on my 1TB hard drive (D:), I could not just install the game and its packs as suggested in the installer as a "basic user." I chose "advanced user" and installed them under my EA GAMES folder at the top level of my (D:) drive. I attempted to keep them in the same folder labeled "The Sims 2," but I couldn't. Some have folders under EA GAMES but at the same level as The Sims 2. A couple installations could be put into The Sims 2. I believe they were stuff packs and University. Other than that, I launch the game the way the text file says to, and that works fine.

Has anyone else had this issue? I cannot move this game to my (C:) drive, as it has no space left.

Please suggest things to try.

Hello and welcome to the Forum @CatGoat,

I actually couldn't tell how to otherwise solve the problem, other than uninstalling this thing, re-booting the computer, and re-installing.

In The Sims 3, you had to create folders for the base game and every individual DLC manually, if you wanted to install the game on a non-C: drive. Otherwise the default installer apparently just installs everything in one single folder, and everything is messed up. From what you describe, I would suspect that the same holds true for The Sims 2.

Feel free to give this older Sims 2 download another shot, or you can try grabbing the newer one here, which essentially is a folder that you can extract almost anywhere.

Not sure how many seeds there are at the moment, but I will resume seeding myself tomorrow again. This newer torrent should be more easy to use. But the old one works just as fine; granted, we only tested it by installing on the C: drive...
