Origin not running error AGAIN.
I just installed and updated my game with the laundry day pack . I exited my gamed and tried to bring it back up and the error popped back up .
I've already been through the virus thing and nothing is working .

Hello @jefesmommy,
If you have Windows 10, consider turning off Windows Defender completely, if you haven't done so already:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t32067-two-ways-of-disabling-windows-defender-under-windows-10
After that, please go to where you have The Sims 4 installed and DELETE the folder "Game". Then you download the latest "Game"-folder here:
https://goo.gl/wK4LdG
And put it in place of the old one (that you just deleted). Try running the game again, then. If you have any other third-party antivirus besides Windows Defender, may I also ask what program exactly you have?

Re: Origin not running error AGAIN.
I've tried all of that lol .
i normally browse through this whole forum before i ask a question that is frequently repeated ( i know how annoying it can be ) .
The last time it did this I just installed the laundry pack and it helped . I already have my antivirus turned off . and I just turned off windows defender .
Someone said something about my CC so I just went ahead and moved my mods and copied my tray and re-installed the game with the new game folder .
still nothing

It's actually (and unfortunately) a common thing that simply "turning off" these antivirus programs doesn't help. In fact, since most of these mainstream programs are designed for people who are not well-versed with the use of computers - to put it diplomatically - these programs simply take charge of everything. If you try editing the settings, chances are your input is ignored.
I'm sorry to hear about the issue you are facing now, but from my perspective, I'm also running out of further tips. What could be useful for you, is to use zlOrigin. See an introductory guide here for example:

Re: Origin not running error AGAIN.
If you tell us more about what (other) antivirus programs you are using, maybe we can try and give more specific advice. Also, please check your system if you have a program named "Web Companion" installed, by Lavasoft. This program is pretty useless, in my opinion, and it is known to cause the problem as well. If you have it, I strongly suggest you uninstall that.
(sorry, that message was accidentally posted under someone else's thread first, so I moved it here).

Re: Origin not running error AGAIN.
I turned everything "off"(windows defender) . and reinstalled everything and so far it is working ! I have a question tho .
could it have been my custom content ?
& if so how can i safely install my CC without it crashing my game like that ??
I love to CC SHOP .

Re: Origin not running error AGAIN.
With CC you'll never know I'm afraid to say.
I'm playing Sims 1,2,3 and 4 for years now and never ever had any problems, but .... I' don't use CC at all.
At least 95% of all problems are CC-related.
When you play The Sims 4 in 64-bits you don't even have to bother ábout anti-virus programs.
All you have to take care of is not to install your The Sims 4 inside a folder Origin, Origin Games or Electronic Arts.

Maybe you will have to reconsider old habits, in that regard...but the only way to know for sure is if you actually TEST the mods/CC that you suspect could have caused the original issue.
Time and time again we see users on the one hand acknowledging that their CC could be the source of their problem(s), but on the other hand have not yet reconciled with the prospect of removing their CC. In the end though, a decision will need to be made.

My opinion and experience is, chances the file is targeted are less likely (and that is not exactly the same as "no need to bother"). I believe right when the 64-bit .exe came along with the game, avast targeted both files. Can't speak for other antivirus software though, but in general it is prudent not to underestimate "security" software, even if past experiences are positive.
