The Complete Store: not working right. Empty The Complete Store: not working right.

Post by Guest Tue 27 Mar 2018, 00:06

Hi all! I'm new to this forum and english is not my first language so please excuse me if I do something wrong. Also, if this is not the place for posting this topic, please move it.

So I recently installed the base game and all the EPs from this site in my new laptop, and they worked great. Then I tried the Complete Store rar that I found here too and eventhough I followed the instructions very carefully it doesn't seem to work properly:

- The words are installed but the premium content (like the blackjack machine from Lucky Palms or the Toy Machine from Midnight hallow) doesn't work. For example, in the toy machine the sim interacts with it, but then instead of a toy all I get is a big white cube. Same with the animations in the Blackjack machine.
- The only store objects in Buying mode I can find are the ones that come from the worlds and some of the venues.
- Not all the venues are included, and some of them don't have a name (I've read that this may be related to my game not being in english, is not a big issue but it'd be great to fix it)
- In the library from Edit Town mode there are some families/households that I did not create, some of them with a house included. There are also some empty houses in that library that are not from the store. I tried to put one of them in my town to check it but the game crashed.

I am very grateful to G4TW for the work they do. In fact, I was able to install all the store content I wanted from this site in my old laptop (the Complete Store file didn't exist then or I didn't found it). In fact, I tried to install the Store content independently first, like I did in my old computer, but that's when I first came across the big white cube problem so I decided to try the Complete Store file instead.

I'm sorry for the long rant, hope someone can help Oh my...

Thanks!

As we don't know what OS your running, nor your system specs, it's much harder to isolate your issue. Based on my experience with the Complete Store download I can only offer the opinion I have formed so far.

The problem appears to come from the Library and a couple of the Mods files in the Complete Store. There seems to be a few dupes and (so far) 4 rig errors in the Library and Mods folders (at least under windows 7 pro and windows 10 home, both x64).  I am currently looking into the issue to see if I can figure out what is causing the crash errors and fix them (if possible). The Mods (with the exception of storeITEMS_part1.package through storeITEMS_part5.package as these apparently have some dupes and rig errors) and Downloads folders cause no issues.

Hi! thanks for your answer. My laptop specs are this:
Intel Core i7-6700HQ, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M, 16 GB RAM, Windows 10. The model is this " HP Omen 15-AX001NS Intel Core i7-6700HQ/16GB/1TB+128 SSD/GTX960M/15.6 " in case you want to check anything else. As I said, the laptop didn't seem to have any problem running the base game and all the EPs. In case it influences anything, I'll add that I had to install the game in the D/ folder instead of in the C/ since the C is the SSD disk and I need the space there to install the graphic design programs I use for the Uni. Also, I have CCmagic installed, since it helped me manage the store content in my older laptop when I had all the store downloads individually. I'm not currently using it for anything. I don't have cc or mods yet, though I'd like to install some nraas mods if possible.

So, is this a normal problem? It's not something I'm doing wrong? How can I fix it? I don't mind using the monthly files to install the store content instead of the Store Collection, but as I said I had the same big white cube problem with the individual links. Maybe the fixes and the decrapify files in the Mods folder are not working properly?

Thanks!

Having the game installed on another HDD can effect gameplay as the game expects to find its run files in the Programs directory. I've found the best way is to install the game itself on the main C drive but have the My Documents folder (where most games save their info) on another HDD as this is the area that the game is going to put all the downloads, saves, etc. so its the area thats going to grow larger over time. Its also where your going to spend some time with the Sims 3, adding mods, clearing the scriptcache, etc.

Post by Guest Wed 28 Mar 2018, 06:46

Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum, and am not sure if a reply is how to post about this kind of thing.
However, I am having very similar problems. I downloaded the complete sims 3 collection and installed it today. I opened it, then shut it down again and downloaded and installed the sims 3 complete store as well. The game and expansions on their own appeared to be working fine from what I saw.
However, as soon I opened create a sim in game, I realized something was wrong. When I went to check for the store content, hardly any of it was available. I checked through the monthly store updates on the website to see what content should be there, and compared that to in game and realized I am missing tons of store content.
The worlds all appear to be there, but tons of hairstyles, and clothes are definitely missing. I have not yet checked to see if any venues are missing.
I followed all directions to install the store exactly, and I'm not sure what's going on. I read all posts regarding the Sims 3 store that I could find.
I have the Sims 3 and all expansions installed on the C drive, as was reccomended in the instructions as well.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Is there a known fix so far? I've really been looking forward to playing this game again, and hope that there's something I can do to fix the store content problem.

problem is that the C disk (which is the SSD) has only 120 GB of capacity. It seems a lot, but I have installed Autocad, Rhinoceros, Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and some other programs I need for Uni and now there are less than 20 GB left. Since the installated files of the sims 3 take around 30 GB (base game + all EP, without stuffpacks) I really have no option but to install it in the D/ disk which has 1 TB of capacity. The My Documents folder remain in the C/ disk though. Would it be better to put it in the D/ disk? Could this be the reason of my problem with the store content?

Moving the My documents folder to the D drive will save alot of space on your SSD C drive, especially for the Sims 3 as the game writes most of its files there. It may also help solve the issue your having.

When you install the store items are you using sims3packs or package files? If using sims3packs, are they showing as successfully installed?

If you are using package files you may have to add them one at a time to help locate any "bad" items. I actually prefer using package files as they make content management a lot easier (IMO) and they help trim some of the fat from the Library files.

I am using the complete store collection from this site, I think they are packages. I have no idea how to install them one at a time XD, I just followed the instructions that I found in the rar file.

You can't install the items one at a time with the complete store but there is no need to as they are all in the 5 StoreITEMS packages. Try moving the My Documents folder to your D drive. If your unfamiliar with how to transfer the My Documents folder you can do a quick google about it, in your case it would be "moving My Documents Windows 10" .

I'll try that for sure. But will that fix my problem? What about the issues you mentioned in your first post? Are them fixable? I'm curious because rigth now the game seems to work ok, I can save my games even having the installation in D/ and the saves in C/. The only problem is the store items. So, the issues you mentioned are related to that?

Thanks for your help Oh my...

I testing a few theories on that issue. I'm thinking its a problem with the Library folder from the complete store and the 1.69 patch, but can't say for sure until I do some more testing.

As far as the My Documents folder move, you really should move it to the other HDD to save space on your SSD C drive. Most programs place their working files there so it is the one area that will grow much larger over time, especially with programs like The Sims 3 that write over 90% of their data to the My Documents folder. I move it on all my sytems whether using SSDs or regular HDDs as it prevents a ton of data loss if/when Windows craps out.

Hello,

This here:

anne_mmlade wrote:- The only store objects in Buying mode I can find are the ones that come from the worlds and some of the venues.

leads me to suspect that you may have made a mistake somewhere. I would need to grab the torrent myself, since it's been so long and I myself really can't remember the details anymore.  Facepalm  Admittedly I would not even know at this point where precisely the error could be. If you installed everything according to instructions it should work though. Aren't the store fixes already included in the folder "Mods"...? These files - if properly installed - should fix the issue with the white cubes.

Arrow  As for the space problem, you can alternatively try using "symbolic links" to just move the folder "The Sims 3", from Documents. Can be a tricky procedure, only do this if you are damn sure you 'want it'. The difference with this method is, it only moves the folder that you want to have moved, instead of moving the entire Documents-folder.
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t17437-redirecting-the-username-folder-the-sims-3-to-a-different-location

Arrow  The "Library" folder was intended to contain these premium lots that came with the updates, such as these "Now/Then Manors", "Grim's Castle", or stuff like that.

Arrow  I was also thinking of working on another alternative store compilation, which would include .sims3pack files, both decrapified (for cracked games) and maybe non-decrapified (for legit games/maybe ZLOrigin as well?) too. We'll see.

P.S. thanks for your efforts @Dracos66! Nonetheless...should you really find a substantial error with the G4TW store compilation, I shall be damned, and you'll be "da man".

Decrapping the sims3pack files for both cracked and uncracked won't hurt a bit. My Origin version of the game is legit and I always decrap any new items I get (all my "old" items have been decrapped and rigfixed). Just a habit I picked up learning how to write my own mods.

As for finding any substantial errors in the store compilation, I hope I don't find any. but if I do I will also try to figure out how to fix any found. The game works fine without the Library folder so after this crazy weekend is over I plan on testing the individual files for errors. It may be as simple as a corrupted file or two.

P.S. If I can fix the issue with the Origin version of the game then I might take the new title "Da Man". Hammertime   lol!

I'm here to say that I'm having similar problems- I will have to check if I'm having the same issue with buy/build mode, but I'm missing a few collections of clothes/hair from CAS (such as the Marie Antoinette and Mother Russia sets) , and I noticed that I'm missing some venues as well (such as the Golden Ticket Toy Store). Are there people who don't have this problem?

Welcome to the Forum as well @AmataViscera,

I will fire up the game again after a very long pause, but like I hinted above: back then when we tested this compilation we found no serious problems. I admit what we could have done is, take a little bit more time with a release and maybe involve more users in the playtesting process.

However: most people joining the G4TW Forum post because they need a quick fix for their (usually Sims-related) problem. And as things stand, when we announce things and ask the "public" for input regarding preview-releases there are maybe two or three replies at most. And at least one of these comments is going to be "cool!", which is of course nice, but is not really to be considered direct feedback.

I did bring up this (admittedly defeatist-sounding 'anecdote') not really as an excuse, but to illustrate that certain more complex issues would need more than 3 or 4 staff members to be worked on, but since we don't typically have an active community certain things need to be improvised I guess, for a lack of a better word.

As also hinted earlier, we will be trying to release an alternative torrent/direct download with individual .sims3pack files. For the moment, I can only suggest this...everybody please try installing ALL expansions/stuffpacks, and ALL extra worlds that come with the G4TW store torrent. I have a suspicion that part of these problems are due to users not completely installing everything. An un-easy workaround for sure, but if I remember correctly, some of the store items require certain neighborhoods to be installed, as well as certain EPs/SPs. You're going to be on the safe(r) side when just installing literally everything.

And in case some of you forgot: the additional neighborhoods in the folder "Downloads", MUST be installed with the TS3 launcher as well. Simply moving the contents of the complete store, under Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 will not actually install these .sims3pack neighborhood-files.

Hiya! And thank you for your reply!

I already have all expansions AND stuff packs installed- and I installed all neighborhoods using the launcher, as well (only after I installed all games)

From what I was able to tell when I checked last night, I don't appear to be missing any buy/build objects, with the exceptation of all objects in the Versailles set. I will be checking again to see if I'm missing any besides that, but everything works (beautifully), though I do have a dupe of the Toy Machine. The obvious omissions are in CAS- I'm definitely missing all the Versailles hairs and clothing, and well as Mother Russia (but the build items, I do have.) I suspect I'm missing a few more clothes, which I'll check for.

I have most of the venues/lots. Curiously enough, I've found that the ones I'm missing all have file names (in the 'Library folder') consisting of names like 'ebf_0x77a0008f62f9b9c0.package', while all the ones which actually are available for placement have their actual name in the file name. It appears to be a correlation?

I'm not sure what I should do- I have MOST of the stuff, but should I uninstall and reinstall the store, or perhaps see if I can locate the missing sets/venues from elsewhere?

I'd also be happy to provide input if useful!

Hmmm....Can I get back to you on that in about a day? I'm trying to shift through all the items and CAS to see if there are any more glaring omissions, which is proving to take a while, ugh

On THIS SITE you can find all Sims 3 store items.
It is in Dutch but all downloads also bear the english names.

In the bottom of the page you can select the year and also "Kavels en Werelden" = "Lots and Worlds"
"Alle Storeitems op Jaar en Maand"= "All Storeitems "sorted on Year and Month"

You can download items as Sims3.packs or as .packages

Okay, so I don't know if this is specific to me, but I seem to be missing the hairs and clothes from the Mother Russia set (I have all the build items), the buy and CAS items from the Palace of the Versailles set, all of the Luxury Resort Attire, the Luxe Lounge set, the Back 2 Skool set, and the free Mardi Gras set. I wonder if these sets just weren't packed? I'm only missing full sets, not an odd object here and there. I suspect I may be missing more CAS items, but I'll check tomorrow.

As for the missing venues, it seems that I'm simply experiencing a known issue with Sims 3 Store lots, so I'm going to try the common fix for it.

My only other concern is that I have a few dupes of items (mostly premium content- the toy machine, the cotton candy machine, the carousel, among others) and I'm not sure how to proceed- do I delete one? I'm just leaving it for now. I also have a duplicated simbin household. I'd just like to avoid borking my game.

Thanks for all your help! It is appreciated

As far as I know these are the only Mother Russia items:

Mother Russia Double Window
Mother Russia Fence
Mother Russia Striped Gate
Mother Russia Triangle Roof Topper
Mother Russia Window

All from the UPDATE 055.package december 2013

Yeah, curiously enough, games4theworld didn't seem to make any mention of the hair or clothes- but there was a set of them which is still in the sims store currently. A shame; these are some of my favorite CAS items!

Whn you are looking for HAIR

Kapsels vrouw = female
Kapsels man = male
Kapsels Kind en Peuter = Child and Toddler

Most of these are part of a set, when you click on the picture you'll see the contents of the full set.
