My sims 4 keeps crashing

Hello, 

like the title, my sims 4 keeps crashing. At first, it would open "load" and then crash. After copying the "my first pet" and then the newest  version, I'm now getting " The content of you user data directed were created by a newer version of The Sims 4 and cannot be loaded. Please update your game via Origin to play." Which, I don't have. What is it that I'm doing wrong and how can I fix this? Please help. 

Go to the folder The Sims 4 in Documents\Electronic Arts.
Delete the file GameVersion
Start your game again.

So, that stopped the newer version message, but now it shows the "The Sims 4 has stopped working" message.
