Questions about the installation of the latest patch

Hi!

Sorry if I am asking something so seemingly simple for most, if not all, but I'm stumped as to how I am supposed to install the latest patch. I vaguely remember the .iso file process from installing Sims 3 years ago, but it's honestly been over 5 if not 6 years now and I feel at loss.
I tried searching the Sims 4 forum sections but I came up null and I'm not entirely sure if it is the same process as what Sims 3 was or not. I hope that I haven't missed the topic which explains it.

In modern Windows, like windows 10, you can open (mount) an ISO by rightclicking on the iso and then select Open with ... Explorer.
I believe that even Windows 8 and Vista offer this possibility.
Otherwise, you'll have to use a program like Daemon or Poweriso

I wasn't aware of this, I had been reading up on the Sims 3 installation and getting ready to install Poweriso.
