Does: "The Sims 3: The Complete Collection" also include all Store Content?
Hi, as the title says, I was wondering if it included all the store content or if that had to be
installed separately?
Additionally, should I be installing my Sims 3 copy through Steam or through Origin? I have an
Origin copy with Night Life, whereas the Steam edition is the base game.
And should EVERYTHING be installed to the same drive/directory? No exceptions? Will I have
to move my Steam installation/reinstall via Origin?
Thank you in advance, sorry for the basic questions!

Hello and welcome,
Store items always need to be installed separately with our downloads. We actually have a separate torrent for the complete store, or individual items here.
Both versions of G4TW's "TS3 Complete Collection" contain the base game plus all expansions and stuffpacks. No need in my opinion to install a legit basegame, which in my experience, nowadays usually causes trouble later on.
The newer "TS3: Complete Collection [G4TW Repack]" is an automated installer, that installs everything in one go. I never used it myself, as I'm not too fond of these super-compressed automated installers. But normally, they give you a choice as to where you want them installed.
The older "TS3: Complete Collection" consists of separate installers for the base game and all DLC. I would recommend installing them in one drive for reasons of simplicity, but if that is not possible for you, here is a way to fiddle with non-C: drives during installation of The Sims 3.
Good luck and feel free to post back in case of further issues!

Hi Ghostman,
Thank you for your prompt and incredibly detailed response; it's greatly appreciated.
A desire to play the Sims came back to me and hasn't left, though the thought of paying
upwards of £300.00 to play really leaves a sour taste!
If I run into any problems I'll be sure to come back, but I've been looking at all the relevant
guides here on the forums and should be up to the challenge. I'll stick with the fresh installation
for the best streamlining possible.
Thanks again, and for everything you're doing here!

If you are installing from scratch, it's probably the (slightly) better solution if you went for the "TS3: Complete Collection [G4TW Repack]", if you haven't downloaded anything yet. The official announcement topic:

Most likely you will want to install all available DLC for TS3 anyway.
I also know what you might be thinking now; this suggestion here contradicts what I said above, because I mentioned I am not fond of these automated installers. This is a personal opinion, and I guess it's based on negative experiences mostly, with those installers. This one from G4TW should work fine, though keep in mind that the installation of the game will take some time.
Good luck again!

Hahahal, 99% into the 27gb on the download page! Live and learn, I'll be fine.
If it does go horribly wrong, at least I know I have a backup.

It seems I've come across a snag...Quite early on. I'm sorry for this.
In the Cracked folder, the .exe that you're told to move is called "TS3W.exe," and when replacing the one
in the bin folder, either you're told EA can't connect to server, so check your connection, or if you use the
cracked .exe, you're told that "service initialization failed" immediately after launching.
I hate to ask...But what am I doing wrong? I'm following the guides within the folders. Should I be installing
the game, after sims3setup to the same directory as that original sims3setup? I can't now choose somewhere
new to install it?

Ah, I was running "TS3.exe," not "Sims3Launcher.exe." Perhaps this is where I was going wrong.

You need to apply the 1.67 manual patch first (if you haven't done so yet), then re-do the TS3W.exe and TSLHost.dll from the folder #Crack. Copy the two files over The Sims 3\Game\Bin location, replace the existing files.
You can then start the game 'directly' with the TS3W.exe.
